1 – US to restore full pension of FBI official fired under Trump
The Associated Press reports: WASHINGTON (AP) — Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe has won back his full pension as part of a settlement of his lawsuit arising from his firing during the Trump administration more than three years ago, his lawyers announced Thursday.

McCabe, a frequent target of then-President Donald Trump’s ire, was fired in March 2018 after the Justice Department’s inspector general concluded he had authorized the release of information to a newspaper reporter and then misled internal investigators about his role in the leak. The termination by Jeff Sessions, the attorney general at the time, came hours before McCabe was due to retire, denying the FBI official his pension.

The settlement agreement vacates that decision, expunges from his personnel folder references to having been fired and entitles McCabe, who joined the FBI in 1996, to his full pension.

As part of the settlement, the federal government has agreed to rescind and vacate McCabe’s firing, deem him as having retired in good standing, restore his full retirement pension and record him as having been employed continuously between 1996 until his actual retirement day.

DML: Well, of COURSE!  We now live in a world where wrong is right and right is wrong.

2 – Biden Supreme Court commission opposes adding justices
Fox News reports: The Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court released its first report Thursday, suggesting that an expansion of the court would be unlikely to achieve balance and instead recommending the rotation of justices.

“There are also reasons to doubt that Court expansion necessarily would produce benefits in terms of diversity of efficiency,” the Commission said in the report. “There is no guarantee that a larger Court would be drawn from a more diverse group of individuals. And a larger court may be less efficient than the current complement of justices.”

The report comes after some congressional Democrats earlier this year called for an expansion to the Supreme Court, arguing that Republicans had unfairly obtained a conservative majority after former President Donald Trump was able to fill three vacancies during his single term.

But the commission pointed to other risks to expanding the court, including recent polling that indicates the public does not favor court expansion, while noting that expanding the court could lead to a “continuous cycle of future expansions.”

3 – George Stephanopoulos Tries to Redeem ‘Pee Dossier’ Hoaxer in Debut Project of His ABC News/Disney Production Studio
Breitbart reports: ABC’s Good Morning America co-anchor George Stephanopoulos is attempting to breathe new life into the “pee dossier” hoax as he launches his new ABC News production company with a Hulu documentary about former British spy Christopher Steele.

George Stephanopoulos, who served as spokesman for the Bill Clinton White House, announced his production company during GMA’s broadcast on Thursday. George Stephanopoulos Productions will create content for ABC, Disney+, National Geographic, and FX — all of which are owned by the Walt Disney Co.

Hulu’s Out of the Shadows, which begins streaming Monday, will profile Christopher Steele, who was behind the notorious dossier that helped to spur the Russia-collusion hoax against President Donald Trump. The dossier contained salacious allegations against Trump, including the claim that hookers were paid to urinate over the germaphobic businessman-turned-politician at the Moscow Ritz-Carlton.

Buzzfeed News ran with the dossier even though its claims were unverified, leading Trump to call the left-wing site a “failing pile of garbage.” Other mainstream news outlets, including CNN, followed suit by publishing the claims in an apparent attempt to smear Trump.

DML: So now, Stephanopoulos is going to further glorify the hoax! Unbelievable!

4 – Appeals court allows Texas abortion law to stay in place while legal challenges play out
The Washington Examiner reports: A restrictive Texas abortion law will remain in effect as legal challenges play out, according to a new federal appeals court ruling against the Justice Department .

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit issued a 2-1 order on Thursday, keeping in place a district court injunction while expediting the appeal. The case is expected to work its way up to the Supreme Court.

Under TX S.B. 8 , abortions are prohibited after a fetal heartbeat is detected, usually around six weeks, and makes no exceptions for rape or incest. Additionally, individuals are allowed to file lawsuits against anyone who “aids or abets” a prohibited abortion. If successful, these people could collect at least $10,000 for each abortion.

5 – Chicago police union boss tells cops to defy COVID-19 vaccine mandate
The New York Post reports: A Chicago police union boss told cops to defy the city’s upcoming COVID-19 vaccination reporting mandate.

Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara said Tuesday he would take Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s administration to court if it enforced a directive ordering city workers to report their vaccination status by Friday.

Under the order, unvaccinated municipal workers who don’t submit to regular COVID-19 tests would be placed on unpaid leave.

“It’s safe to say that the city of Chicago will have a police force at 50% or less for this weekend coming up,” the labor leader said. “I do not believe the city has the authority to mandate that to anybody, let alone that information about your medical history,” he said.

  1. McCabe is a liar and doesn’t deserve his pension. However democrats prefer to lift the criminals up as extraordinary people . No consequences for illegal behavior is part of the problem today. If it was a conservative they would not receive the same treatment.

Term limits should be applied to congress more than the SC.

Steele should be in prison for his lot in the Russia collusion trying to destroy a president along with the other players involved

Good for the Chicago police. Hold the line. If this happened everywhere else with all professionals this crap would stop.
