Today is October 16 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch. Below are my opinions on the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room, in my opinion. 1 – ABC avoids explosive Hunter Biden report during Biden town hall, while NBC moderator debates with Trump
ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos failed to ask Joe Biden any questions about the explosive New York Post report about his son Hunter Biden.

While the Biden campaign previously denied that the former VP had any scheduled meetings with the Burisma adviser at the time, the Democratic nominee received a pass from Stephanopoulos during the 90-minute town hall.

DML: Par for the course. dishonesty no longer matters if you’re a Democrat.

Meanwhile, NBC was under fire for its own town hall, which critics characterized as a “debate” since moderator Savannah Guthrie spent much of the time intensely grilling President Trump, including hitting him again to denounce white supremacy.

Trump denounced white supremacy – AGAIN – then turned the tables, asking why they don’t ask Joe Biden denounce Antifa.

DML: Guthrie is a complete ass.

2 – Biden leaves door open to adding Supreme Court justices
Democratic nominee Joe Biden on Thursday kept the door open to adding justices to the Supreme Court if Republicans push ahead with confirming President Trump’s nominee Amy Coney Barrett.

Speaking at a town hall event on ABC, moderator George Stephanopoulos tried to pin Biden down on a question that has dogged the nominee for weeks on the campaign trail.

Biden appeared to say he’d provide a clearer answer before Election Day. He also hinted that there are “other alternatives.”

DML: Flip-flopping agin, but he’s allowed because he’s a Democrat.

3 – House Republicans ask FBI if it had Hunter Biden’s alleged laptop during Trump’s impeachment
House Republicans are calling on the FBI to reveal whether it was in possession of a laptop that reportedly contained emails by Hunter Biden during the impeachment of President Trump — and claiming the agency committed a “gross error in judgement” if it did not inform the White House.

The letter was written after the New York Post published emails suggesting that Hunter Biden introduced his father to a top executive at Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings in 2015 — one year before his father allegedly pressured the country’s government to fire a prosecutor who had launched an investigation into the company.

The Post reported that the FBI was in possession of the laptop on which the emails were found in December 2019 — right in the middle of the impeachment of President Trump over remarks he made to the Ukrainian president about Biden’s conduct in the country.

“If the FBI was, in fact, in possession of this evidence and failed to alert the White House to its existence that would have given even more weight to the president’s legal defense, this was a gross error in judgement and a severe violation of trust,” the letter says.

DML: The FBI has lost its way. You can thank Obama and Hillary.

4 – Twitter announces new policies after Hunter Biden report
A top policy executive at Twitter announced policy changes at the social media giant late Thursday after the company faced its toughest allegations yet of censorship in order to protect Democratic candidates.

Vijaya Gadde, the legal, policy and trust & safety lead at the company, announced that some of the changes will include its approach to “hacked content” and how it shares links on its platform.

“All other Twitter Rules will still apply to the posting of or linking to hack materials, such as our rules against posting private information, synthetic and manipulated media, and non-consensual nudity,” she posted.

DML – They can stick their new policy up their ass.

5 – C-Span’s ‘debate moderator’ Steve Scully admits he LIED about anti-Trump tweet, Twitter ‘hack’
C-SPAN suspended its political editor Steve Scully indefinitely Thursday after he admitted to lying about his Twitter feed being hacked when he was confronted about a questionable exchange with former Trump aide Anthony Scaramucci.

The news came on the day of what was supposed to be a career highlight for the 30-year C-SPAN veteran. Scully was to moderate the second debate between President Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden, which was canceled after Trump would not agree to a virtual format because of his COVID-19 diagnosis.

Casting blame on President Trump, Scully wrote: “For several weeks, I was subjected to relentless criticism on social media and in conservative news outlets regarding my role as moderator for the second presidential debate, including attacks aimed directly at my family. This culminated on Thursday, October 8th, when I heard President Trump go on national television twice and falsely attack me by name. Out of frustration, I sent a brief tweet addressed to Anthony Scaramucci. The next morning when I saw that this tweet had created a new controversy, I falsely claimed that my Twitter account had been hacked.

“These were both errors in judgement for which I am totally responsible. I apologize. These actions have let down a lot of people, including my colleagues at C-SPAN, where I have worked for the past 30 years, professional colleagues in the media, and the team at the Commission on Presidential Debates. I ask for their forgiveness as I try to move forward in a moment of reflection and disappointment in myself.”

DML: Can you imagine if Tucker pulled the same bullsh*t. He’d be fired.

6 – Virginia School District Forces Teachers to Undergo Equity Training on Day Off
Virginia’s Arlington County public school district required teachers to undergo an equity training program on Columbus Day—a day they were supposed to have off.

According to emails and videos obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, the mandatory session coached over 4,300 staff members on how to become “equity influencers.” Paul Gorski, the consultant whose Equity Literacy Institute ran the training, asserted without evidence that black students constantly hear the “n-word” in schools across the Northeastern United States. The hour-and-a-half program gave such further examples of “inequities” as yearbooks, which Gorski said are easier for rich families to afford.

Teachers also had the option of attending additional sessions throughout the day. One seminar, “Engaging Colleagues in Equity Learning Using Case Studies,” encouraged teachers to use anecdotal evidence instead of data when making arguments. Another, “A Deep Dive on Racial Equity,” was presented by a white woman and taught teachers how to cultivate an “actively antiracist learning environment.”

7 – BLM Cofounder to Produce Warner Bros. Children’s Content
A Black Lives Matter cofounder who trained as an activist under domestic terrorist Eric Mann has signed a contract with Warner Bros. Television group to produce children’s programming and other content.

Activist Patrisse Cullors will produce a variety of Warner Bros. broadcasting, cable, and digital content, including kids’ shows, in an effort to “amplify” the Black Lives Matter movement, Variety reported Thursday. Cullors has called for abolishing the police and mandating reparations to black Americans. She once tweeted that she’s “into” reparations because they would “break the back of America.”

Cullors is backed by 3 Arts Entertainment, a talent agency owned by Lionsgate, a company founded by longtime Clinton Foundation donor Frank Giustra. She’s also backed by Creative Artists Agency, a talent organization that covered up eight allegations of sexual harassment against disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein.

8 – Biden reiterates plan to convince Americans to wear masks
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden says if he’s elected, he’ll gather the nation’s governors and ask them to urge residents in their states to wear masks in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Biden, speaking at a town hall Thursday night in Philadelphia hosted by ABC News, acknowledged that as president “you can’t mandate a mask.”

But the former vice president said that “you can go to every governor and get them all in a room, all 50 of them, as president and say ‘ask people to wear a mask. Everybody knows.”

Biden said that if some governors don’t move to implement mask requirements, he said “then I go to every mayor, I go to every councilman, every local official, and say ‘mandate the mask.’”

DML: Biden likes masks because it covers over him dribbling on himself. Either way, I ain’t wearing a mask.
