1.NFL player arrested for indecency with a child and sexual contact, could face 20 years in jail
FoxNews.com – Former first-round pick Barkevious Mingo was arrested earlier in the week for “indecency with a child”, TMZ Sports reported on Saturday afternoon.
Mingo, who currently plays for the Atlanta Falcons, was reportedly arrested on Thursday by the Arlington Police Department, and he was booked into the Tarrant County jail for “indecency with a child, sexual contact,” TMZ Sports reported citing court records and law enforcement officials.
According to the website, Mingo potentially faces a second-degree felony. If he is indeed convicted, Mingo could face up to 20 years in jail in the state of Texas.
Mingo was released from jail the next morning. His bond was set at $25,000.
After being made aware today of allegations involving LB Barkevious Mingo and gathering information on the matter, the Atlanta Falcons now have terminated his contract.

DML: Finally, and for once, cancel culture gets it right.
2. Heat wave blankets US West as fires rage in several states
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Firefighters struggled to contain an exploding Northern California wildfire under blazing temperatures as another heat wave blanketed the West, prompting an excessive heat warning for inland and desert areas.
Death Valley in southeastern California’s Mojave Desert reached 128 degrees Fahrenheit (53 Celsius) on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service’s reading at Furnace Creek. The shockingly high temperature was actually lower than the previous day, when the location reached 130 F (54 C).
If confirmed as accurate, the 130-degree reading would be the hottest high recorded there since July 1913, when Furnace Creek desert hit 1,34 F (57 C), considered the highest measured temperature on Earth.
DML: It must be those farting cows again.
3.US records 20,000 new COVID cases three days in a row for the first time since May
DailyMail.com – The U.S. has recorded more than 20,000 new daily cases of COVID-19 for the third day in a row, a threshold that has not been crossed since May.
Health officials say that the fast-spreading Delta variant first identified in India is racing through areas with low vaccination rates, eroding gains made in beating back the virus.
On Friday, the seven-day rolling average of daily new cases was up 47 percent from two weeks ago, and hospitalizations were up 11 percent, according to a DailyMail.com analysis of U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data.
DML: Don’t throw those masks out just yet all you Fauci believers. Don’t lips and teeth are going back into the cave soon.
4.Biden and Merkel to discuss Afghanistan, cybersecurity and Nord Stream pipeline this week
CNBC.com – President Joe Biden is slated to discuss an array of pressing issues with German Chancellor Angela Merkel next week, in what may be her last trip to Washington after nearly 16 years at the helm of Europe’s largest economy.
The two leaders are expected to share their concerns on the deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan, the steady drumbeat of cyberattacks, ending the Covid-19 pandemic, long-standing trade issues and the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
DML: I think Joey should be more focused about stopping the crime wave in the US, but that’s what a real president would do so don’t expect it to happen.
5.Rand Paul on CDC Guidance, Federal Mandates on Masks: ‘It’s About Submission’
Friday on FNC’s “The Ingraham Angle,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) criticized the justification for mask mandates, arguing that they were not based on science.
“It’s about submission,” he said. “There’s never been any evidence of spreading events in the schools. The kids do very well with this. The idea that we’re going to put masks on the kids, and then we’re going to punish the kids who, for their own medical decision-making or their parents, decide not to submit to this mandate. To me, it’s the biggest, basically advertisement and encouragement to get out of the government schools. Go to private schools, if you can afford them, teach your kids at home. But don’t submit to the state, don’t submit to the government.”
The Kentucky Republican also revealed he was pushing a bill that would end the federal government’s mask mandate on commercial airliners.
DML: Paul’s comments come on the heals of the CDC pushing new guidance for schools to make kids without vaccines to wear masks. Meanwhile, I did an entire podcast on how dangerous it is for kids to do such a thing. Based on two recent studies it shows kids should not be wearing masks, it is way too dangerous. You can listen to it by clicking here — it’s only 20-minutes.
