Today is July 13. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room. And don’t forget to download the free DML App from the Google Play or Apple App Store to remain connected to me throughout the day.

1. The battle of Democrats named Joe
Fox News:Sen. Joe Manchin’s planned trip to a “No Labels” event in the first-in-the-nation primary state of New Hampshire has some Democrats worried he could mount a “spoiler” reminiscent of late Texas industrialist Ross Perot in 1992.

Manchin, D-W. Va, who has not yet announced his official intent to run for re-election in 2024, is seen as one of the last 20th century-style moderates in the caucus.

The senator recently told reporters his participation at the event is not a formal indication of third-party intentions, However, he later added that he’s “never ruled out anything or [ruled] in anything… this is strictly a conference we’re having.”

DML: Clearly, if Manchin runs as an Independent he will destroy any chance Biden has of claiming victory. NOTE: This assumes there would be a fair election.  If Trump is the nominee there is no chance that happens.

2. Black LIVES Matter turns 10
(AP) The Black Lives Matter movement hits a milestone on Thursday, marking 10 years since its 2013 founding in response to the acquittal of the man who fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

Gunned down in a Florida gated community where his father lived in 2012, Martin was one of the earliest symbols of a movement that now wields influence in politics, law enforcement and broader conversations about racial progress in and outside the U.S.

BLM activists and organizations plan to mark a decade of the movement with in-person and virtual events. Calls to action include a renewed push to defund police departments and reinvest in Black communities that have suffered disproportionately from police brutality, unequal treatment in criminal justice systems and mass incarceration.

DML: It’s all a bunch of BS.  Blacks make up 13% of the population but they make for more than 40% of the abortions in the US.  The number one cause of death for a black man age 0-40 is homicide.  So when the black lives matter to the black people, let me know.  Until then, BLM is nothing but a channel to raise donation money and spend it on personal items.  You and I would be arrested for doing such a thing, but not BLM.  Crazy.

3. Florida ruling supports women at gay venue
Breitbart -A judge has ruled that a Florida nude resort typically reserved for gay and bisexual men must open its doors to women.

The New Orleans House in Key West had been slapped with a lawsuit by a woman named Amina Chaudhry after she was prevented from making a reservation at the resort in July 2022 due its policy of requiring guests to be “adult males 18 years of age or over only.” On June 30, Administrative Law Judge Brittany Finkbeiner recommended that the “Florida Commission on Human Relations should find that the New Orleans House ‘engaged in unlawful discrimination,’” according to Metro Weekly.

The judge’s ruling came after the Commission on Human Relations ruled in February that “no reasonable cause” could be established demonstrating that the resort violated Florida’s civil rights law. Chaudhry appealed the ruling, which Judge Brittany Finkbeiner overturned. New Orleans House maintained that all were welcome at the resort but that it restricted women from entering the “clothing optional” parts of the establishment.

DML: Only a sick woman would want to enter that sort of establishment.  Or, perhaps, this is a woman who is digging for gold? Perhaps she pretends to want to participate at the venue, but her real plan is to sue after being rejected entry.  Free money, it makes the world spin.

4.Hollywood actors to walk out for the first time in decades
USA TODAY:The Hollywood actors’ union is on the verge of a virtual shutdown of the American film and TV industry.

After a month of tense negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and the major studios, talks collapsed at the midnight (PDT) deadline Wednesday, and the union’s negotiating committee unanimously recommended a vote by its national board to call a strike, joining movie and TV writers, who walked out May 2. The vote will be held Thursday morning, and a formal announcement by the actors union is expected at noon PDT; both sides had already extended talks by 12 days after their initial contract expired June 30.

In a statement, the union’s negotiating committee said the studios remain “unwilling to offer a fair deal on the key issues that are essential to SAG-AFTRA members,” and blamed “intransigence and delay tactics” by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers for its unanimous recommendation. Actress Fran Drescher, the SAG-AFTRA’s president, said the studios’ “responses to the union’s most important proposals have been insulting and disrespectful of our massive contributions to this industry.”

DML: Lets hope the entire industry of radical lefties collapses on itself.
