Today is July 6 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch. Below are my opinions on the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room, in my opinion. 1. Atlanta mayor calls for citizens to stop ‘shooting each other’ after murder of 8-year-old near BLM protest site
Fox News reports: In an impassioned press conference Sunday night, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms issued a full-throated call for citizens to stop “shooting each other up on our streets,” after an eight-year-old girl was shot and killed on the Fourth of July near a Wendy’s that has become a flashpoint of anti-police Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests in the city.
Bottoms, a Democrat who is considered a potential running mate for Joe Biden, made the remarks as she fought through tears — and the nation endured a new bout of urban carnage. Sixty-three people were injured and 17 killed in Chicago, including two children, over the weekend; and in New York City, 44 were hurt and at least six killed.
“Enough is enough,” Bottoms said. “Enough is enough. We have talked about this movement that’s happening across America and this moment in time when we have the ears and the interests of people across this country and across this globe who are saying they want to see change. But the difference in this moment in time with the civil rights movement — the civil rights movement, there was a defined, common enemy. We’re fighting the enemy within when we are shooting each other up on our streets.”

This is Secoriea Turner.
The 8yo was shot as she and her mom tried parking in a liquor store lot, near armed civilians’ barricades around the Wendy’s where Rayshard Brooks was killed.
Her family is pleading for help to bring her justice.

DML: It’s hard to take this Black Lives Matter chaos seriously. If black lives mattered to the blacks running through the streets screaming ‘Black Lives Matter’, then the number one cause of death for black males younger than 40 wouldn’t be homicide. Here’s a little wisdom from DML: Stop the killing in the streets, doing drugs on a daily basis, tearing down statues, calling for the defunding of cops, and looting. Then go get a job and take care of your spawn. Simple plan! Fix your neighborhoods then tell us what matters.
2. Developing World Loses Billions in Money From Migrant Workers
The Wall Street Journal reports: Migrant workers—from Polish farmhands working the fields of southern France to Filipino cruise-ship workers in the Caribbean—who lost their jobs because of the pandemic’s economic impact are running out of cash to send home, dealing a blow to the fragile economic health of the developing world.
Tens of millions of Indians, Filipinos, Mexicans and others from developing countries working overseas sent a record $554 billion back to their home countries last year. That’s an amount greater than all foreign direct investment in low- and middle-income countries and more than three times the development aid from foreign governments, according to the World Bank.
The drop-off in the payments, known as remittances, has affected life for millions around the globe who rely on the cash for food, fuel and medical care. Families from South Asia to Latin America can’t afford mortgage payments and tuition.
(The report includes a financial flow chart of the top 10 remittance routes in 2019. The United States tops the list, as migrant workers sent $103 billion back home, with the majority going to Mexico, China, India, Philippines, Guatemala and Vietnam.)

DML: Deport them all. Countries have borders for a reason.
3. Biden says he is going to ‘transform’ the nation if elected
Fox News reports: Joe Biden tweeted Sunday night that if he gets elected, his administration “won’t just rebuild this nation — we’ll transform it,” raising speculation online about what exactly in the country will be transformed.
The tweet comes after a politically charged Fourth of July weekend, as the country works to manage a new surge in COVID-19 cases and tries to emerge from weeks of tense protests that have resulted in a widening divide between Democrats and Republicans.
His campaign sent a link to his website when reached by Fox News for comment about the tweet. The tweet appeared to be embraced by supporters and was liked 140,000 times as of early Monday.
We’re going to beat Donald Trump. And when we do, we won’t just rebuild this nation — we’ll transform it.

DML: History reminder…. The words of Obama when running for president, “We will fundamentally transform the United States of America.” Now the crazy thing is, Kayne West is running for president according to his latest Twitter brain fart. So the good news is the dumb ass vote will be split between West and Biden. Looks like Trump2020 gets safer each day.
4. House eyes votes to remove symbols of Confederates from Capitol
The Hill reports: House Democrats will be pressing forward with votes on multiple fronts this month to take down artwork and monuments honoring people who upheld slavery as they seek to keep up momentum on the nation’s reckoning over racism.
While police reform legislation in response to the nationwide protests over racial injustice is stalled, Democrats will vote on a defense policy bill that requires renaming military bases named after Confederate generals.
They are also expected to vote on legislation to replace a bust at the Capitol of Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger Taney, who wrote the Dred Scott decision that Black people did not have the rights of citizens.
Pelosi responds to the controversies about removing Confederate statues and symbols: “I do believe that if people have committed treason against the United States of America, their statues should not be in the Capitol” https://t.co/Nj065CIsxp pic.twitter.com/lbV7HYwbDI

DML: This is getting soooooooo boring. I think a better effort would be for black lawmakers to push for hip-hop songs to no longer include the N-word in the lyrics. Start cleaning up in your own backyard.
5. Hundreds of scientists reportedly claim WHO is downplaying risk of airborne spread of coronavirus
CNBC reports: A group of 239 scientists from 32 different countries are reportedly preparing to publish an open letter to the World Health Organization in the coming days, urging the United Nations health agency to update its recommendations for the coronavirus.
The group of scientists argue that the WHO needs to give more weight to the role of the airborne spread of Covid-19, The New York Times reported on Saturday.
The experts are expected to publish the letter and findings that support their view in the Clinical Infectious Diseases medical journal this week.
It appears to contradict previous evidence that the virus is transmitted from person to person via droplets from the nose or mouth. These are expelled when a person with the infection coughs, sneezes or speaks.
DML: Can we try something a little less erratic. How about we get the world to eat better, walk two miles per day, and boost the immune system? Why don’t we try that instead of wearing masks. I am willing to bet the number of hospitalizations and deaths drop incredibly. Not to mention the counting of people twice! A friend told me her kids have each been testing for COVID-19 twice. According to her email, they both ended up positive. But instead of two cases, this is counted as 4 cases because they both went twice. How crazy is this!
DEAL: Our DML CBD Gummy Chews are a huge hit. Check out the deal below. The offer ends this month. CBD can help boost the immune system.
