Today is May 28. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room. 1. Federal agents defied local police in Uvalde
According to the DailyMail, federal officers overruled local Texas police to storm the Uvalde school where a gunman was killing children – thirty minutes after being told not to go into the building a report has claimed.

The armed officers from Border Patrol and Homeland Security arriving on the scene of the Texas school shooting were told by the local police chief not to go into the building, according to a report, but after a maddening 30 minutes overruled him and stormed the site.

The first 911 call was received at 11:28am, and it swiftly became clear that the school was under serious attack: units from across the region dashed to the site. They included the elite border patrol tactical unit BORTAC, and ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), who were on the scene between noon and 12:15pm.

The units were told by Arredondo to wait, and not enter, according to two senior federal law enforcement officers, who spoke to NBC. McCraw said that Arredondo mistakenly believed the gunman was cornered, and no longer a threat.

At first they obeyed, the sources said.

But after 30 minutes, in desperation, as children were repeatedly ringing 911 from inside their classes and begging for help, they began making a ‘stack’ formation to enter the building.

DML: Arredondo is an incompetent idiot who probably caused some kids to die, and I don’t care what his excuse — he is a wimp.

2.MLB coach to skip national anthem due to school shooting
According to Fox News, San Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler will no longer stand with his team for the national anthem until he “feels better about the direction of our country” in the wake of the Texas school shooting on Tuesday that left 19 students and two teachers dead.

Kapler spoke with reporters ahead of Friday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds to explain his choice not to participate in the national anthem, a decision he first revealed in a lengthy blog post earlier in the day.

“I don’t plan on coming out for the anthem going forward until I feel better about the direction of our country,” he told reporters. “That’ll be the step. I don’t expect it to move the needle necessarily. It’s just something I feel strongly enough about to take that step.”

In his blog post, Kapler wrote the following: “We elect our politicians to represent our interests. Immediately following this shooting, we were told we needed locked doors and armed teachers. We were given thoughts and prayers. We were told it could have been worse, and we just need love.

But we weren’t given bravery, and we aren’t free. The police on the scene put a mother in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her children. They blocked parents trying to organize to charge in to stop the shooter, including a father who learned his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren’t free when politicians decide that the lobbyist and gun industries are more important than our children’s freedom to go to school without needing bulletproof backpacks and active shooter drills.”

DML: Another liberal sounding ballplayer who is paid millions each year for doing nothing productive.  If he wants change, how about he starts local.  San Fran is one of the worst cities in America when it comes to homelessness, crime, and drugs.  Perhaps Kapler should take a knee outside a few homeless encampments to bring attention to the problems in his own front yard.

3.Putin threatens the west with new 6,670mph hypersonic nuclear-capable cruise missile after it hits target 625 miles away in successful test
A video shows Russia today testing its new hyper-sonic Zircon – or Tsirkon – missile ahead of its imminent deployment.

The 6,670mph was fired from the Admiral Gorshkov frigate in the Barents Sea, and hit a target at a range of 625miles in the White Sea.

A statement from the Russian defense ministry said: ‘According to objective control data, the Zircon hyper-sonic cruise missile successfully hit a sea target located at a distance of about 1,000km.

DML: This would never happen under President Trump.

4.Iran shows off underground drone base, but not its location -state media

Reuters – May 28 (Reuters) – The Iranian army has given some details – but not the exact location – of an underground base for its military drones, state media reported on Saturday, amid simmering tensions in the Gulf.

State TV said 100 drones were being kept in the heart of the Zagros mountains, including Ababil-5, which it said were fitted with Qaem-9 missiles, an Iranian-made version of air-to-surface U.S. Hellfire.

“No doubt the drones of Islamic Republic of Iran’s armed forces are the region’s most powerful,” army commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said. “Our capability to upgrade drones is unstoppable,” he added.

DML: I repeat myself, this would never happen under President Trump.

5.Fed’s preferred inflation gauge rose 4.9% in April, still near 40-year high
Fox Business – A key measure of annual inflation that is closely watched by the Federal Reserve continued to run hot in April as widespread supply disruptions, extraordinarily high consumer demand and worker shortages fuel rapidly rising prices.

The personal consumption expenditures price index, which measures costs that consumers pay for a variety of different items, showed that core prices – which exclude the more volatile measurements of food and energy – soared 4.9% in the year through April, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

That measurement is the Fed’s preferred gauge to track inflation; it marks the 13th consecutive month the gauge has been above the central bank’s target range of 2%. Still, it was slightly below March’s measurement of 5.2%, and is down from the 39-year high of 5.3% that was recorded in February.

DML: One more time… this would not happen under President Trump.

MY PARTING WORDS: Everyone is concerned about rising costs, and there is no sign of things getting better.  In fact, it is about to get worse.   The economy, housing, and consumer confidence will all tank within the next six months.  Meanwhile, in some liberal states, the masking has started again as COVID cases climb.  Make no mistake, the next wave of virus will be coming in time for the midterms.  It is going to be the perfect storm: high inflation, shrinking economy, and partial shutdowns due to COVID 2.0.  You need to brace for it all.  But in doing so YOU CANNOT ignore your health and well-being.  This is why I am urging you to consider the buy one get one free offer for cbd gummy chews at DML CBD.  We are trying to help you save money; you need to consider this offer. 1. Even if there hadn’t been any phone calls to 911, didn’t this dumbass think there was wounded kids needing attention?
Total moron. Fit right in with the Biden administration.

  2. Kapler is such a hero. What does sitting for the anthem do to help any situation other than further divide the country and make our youth even more unpatriotic. What worthwhile sacrifice is he making? Sports and entertainment figures make millions, live in mansions and luxury normal people never dream of. They are so out of touch with everyday Americans!

  3. Since he doesn’t want to stand for the anthem he should sit in some other country without a USA passport . You either love it here or gtfo do something instead of nothing you voted for this pos . As they say elections have consequences.

  4. Good morning DML
I super confused as to why this all seems to happen around EVERY election time! I wouldn’t be surprised and I know this sounds conspiracy theory, but it’s almost as if these people were planted to carry out these deeds. The last two especially.😭😭😭😭😭😭 It’s just too coincidental

  5. I was a cop with over 20 years in LAPD and retired from DEA MET team. I was assigned to SWAT and had training and instructed others in active shooter critical incidents.

Chief Arredondo went against everything that is industry standards in handling a school shooter. Since Columbine, ALL law enf agencies agree that whether you have one or 10 cops on site, the first ones there DO NOT wait. They stack and flow in quickly.

His excuse of a barricaded suspect again is inexcusable. Even a rookie cadet knows that a school shooter is not seeking a way out of the campus or negotiate a surrender; they are on a one way trip of mayhem and murder with accepting suicide/or police bullets as their exit. Hence, there was NO reason to make officers wait for a tac team.

This was a horrendous and almost criminal incompetence by Chief Arredondo.
