Today is April 29 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch. Below are my opinions on the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room, in my opinion. 1 – Tim Scott in GOP response to Biden: ‘Hear me clearly — America is not a racist country’
The NY Post reports: Sen. Tim Scott on Wednesday knocked President Biden for “empty platitudes” about national unity while also accusing the US of “systemic racism” in a blistering Republican response to Biden’s first speech to a joint session of Congress.

The South Carolina Republican said Democrats hypocritically talked about unity while filibustering his policing reform bill and rejecting GOP efforts to influence Biden’s recently passed $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill.

Scott, one of just three black senators, also said “America is not a racist country” — rejecting Biden’s recent assessment of America as systemically racist.

“Hear me clearly: America is not a racist country. It’s backwards to fight discrimination with different discrimination. And it’s wrong to try to use our painful past to dishonestly shut down debates in the present.

“Original sin is never the end of the story. Not in our souls and not for our nation. The real story is always redemption,” Scott said.

DML: Now that’s more like it!

2 – Sen. Ted Cruz blasts “most radical line” in Biden’s speech
Sen. Ted Cruz responded to Joe Biden’s Joint Congress address Wednesday night, and he called out a line which hardly anyone else is talking about.

Biden said, “Our Constitution opens with the words, ‘We the People.’ It’s time we remembered that ‘We the People’ are the government. You and I. Not some force in a distant capital. Not some powerful force we have no control over. It’s us. It’s ‘We the People.’”

WATCH Cruz’s fiery response:

Cruz also warned that even if Biden appears boring, his radical message should not be ignored. WATCH:

DML: Biggest mistake we could make is under-estimating the Dems’ radical agenda.

3 – USPS official confirms covert social media tracking operation, lawmaker says
Fox Business reports: A Republican representative who met with USPS Chief Postal Inspector Gary Barksdale on Wednesday said Barksdale confirmed the agency is combing through Americans’ social media posts for a covert intelligence mission.

In a statement to FOX Business, a spokesperson for South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace confirmed that Barksdale said during the briefing that USPS analysts search through social media posts, which is said to be part of a cover mission known as iCOP (Internet Covert Operations Program).

Barksdale also verified that iCOP exists, which was first reported by The Daily Mail. Barksdale indicated the program would continue, according to The Daily Mail. He was reportedly unable to provide lawmakers with details as to how much is spent on the initiative or when it began.

As previously reported by FOX Business, the United States Postal Inspection Service is an “elite police force” that “enforces over 200 federal statutes related to crimes that involve the postal system, its employees, and its customers.”

Mace’s office told FOX Business that no arrests had been made based on the information collected thus far.

DML: Seriously disturbing.

4 – Connecticut governor signs bill ending school vaccination exemptions
The Washington Examiner reports: Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont signed legislation on Wednesday to eliminate the religious exemption for student vaccines, although opponents of the measure are already gearing up for legal action.

Lamont, a Democrat, put his signature on House Bill 6423, which requires all new students in Connecticut’s public and private schools as well as child care programs to be vaccinated, according to the state’s immunization schedule for September 2022.

“This is an issue that I have spent a lot of time researching and discussing with medical experts, and it is something that I take very seriously knowing the public health impact that it has on our children, families, and communities,” Lamont said in a statement. “When it comes to the safety of our children, we need to take an abundance of caution.”

Following the end of debate over the bill on Tuesday, Democratic state Senate President Pro Tempore Martin Looney said of the bill, “It is an assertion of the state’s need and right to protect its vulnerable children from the possibility of illness and for those children to pass it along to other children who come to school already immunocompromised, immunosuppressed and dependent upon other children to be safely vaccinated so that they may safely attend school.”

DML: Who else thinks this is a total outrage?!

5 – State of Oregon Changes Athlete Mask Mandates After Runner Collapses
Breitbart reports: The state of Oregon has changed its mask mandates for athletes after a runner collapsed near the finish line during a high school track meet this month.

Summit High School 800-meter runner Maggie Williams collapsed just short of the finish line early this month. Her coach, Dave Turnbull, felt that his runner collapsed because she was forced to compete while wearing a mask.

“I am concerned with the mask rule,” Summit coach Turnbull said. “This is what I am worried about, and I said this at the beginning of the season. You get a kid running the 800 with a mask on, it is actually dangerous. They don’t get the oxygen that they need. This rule needs to change.”

  1. Very impressed with Scott. Very!
I purposely did not watch Biden last night, why watch the lies and deceptions. He’s not really our President. Biden needs to go home to his basement and Harris needs to go to Jamaica. And those that are so set on socialism pick a country and go.
    YES! WE MISS TRUMP!!!!!!!

  2. Dont these coaches know wearing a mask running you are breathing in CO2 ! What idiots ! Dont not vaccinate children this is stupidity what are the side affect s in years to come with this experimental vaccine .

  3. Wish we had more government officials like Tim Scott. He is wonderful and seems to have it all together. Ted Cruz was right on about “We the People” is not the politicians. It is those of us who vote and we need to start taking it seriously or we will not recognize this US for what it once was the land of the Free. Those who are in there 30’s to 50’s need to step up and run for offices in local elections and state elections.
