1 – California professor sues over vaccine mandate, says he has natural immunity
Fox News reports: A University of California professor is suing the school system’s Board of Regents and president over a coronavirus vaccine mandate, which he argues he does not need because of his natural immunity against the virus.
“I feel like I’m being treated unequally,” Aaron Kheriaty, professor of psychiatry and human behavior at the University of California, Irvine, said, SBG reported. “If my immunity is as good, indeed, very likely better, than that conferred by the vaccine, there doesn’t seem to be any rational basis for discriminating against my form of immunity and requiring me to get a different form of immunity.”
Kheriaty, who serves as director of UCI’s Medical Ethics Program and is a member of the UC Office of the President Critical Care Bioethics Working Group, said he contracted the virus in July 2020 and had raised concerns over the vaccine mandate to school leaders. However, he said he was met “mostly with radio silence” before he filed the lawsuit.
News went national today.
“Kheriaty has ‘been overwhelmed with very encouraging correspondence… from many faculty and staff, as well as graduate and undergraduate students, at UC who have natural immunity and feel they don’t need the vaccine.”https://t.co/6TMnoxnKkA #FoxNews

Forcing those with natural immunity to be vaccinated introduces unnecessary risks without commensurate benefits–either to individuals or the population as a whole–and violates their rights guaranteed under the equal protection clause of the Constitution’s 14th Amendment.

2 – Biden blames unvaccinated for US’s COVID-19 slog
The Hill reports: President Biden on Thursday admonished unvaccinated Americans and some elected officials for exacerbating the coronavirus pandemic as he laid out new, more aggressive steps his administration is taking to confront COVID-19.
Biden announced a new rule that will require all private employers with upwards of 100 employees to mandate weekly testing as well as plans to require vaccines for federal workers and contractors. Biden also said he would require employers to provide paid time off to get the vaccine and he urged large entertainment venues to require proof of vaccination or testing to gain entry.
“We have the tools to combat COVID-19, and a distinct minority of Americans, supported by a distinct minority of elected officials, are keeping us from turning the corner. These pandemic politics, as I refer to it, are making people sick, causing unvaccinated people to die,” Biden said in prepared remarks from the State Dining Room of the White House.
“We cannot let these actions stand in the way of protecting the large majority of Americans who have done their part and want to get back to life as normal,” Biden said.
“My message to unvaccinated Americans is this: What more is there to wait for? What more do you need to see?” Biden said. “We have made vaccinations free, safe and convenient. The vaccine is FDA approved. Over 200 million Americans have gotten at least one shot. We’ve been patient but our patience is wearing thin and your refusal has cost all of us. So please, do the right thing.”

3 – Boston 9/11 memorial vandalized
Washington Examiner reports: A Boston display of 2,997 flags commemorating the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks was vandalized between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, according to reports.
Members of Project 351, a youth leadership organization, set up the flags on Wednesday evening in Boston’s Garden of Remembrance, a monument to the nearly 200 people with ties to Massachusetts who died in the attacks 20 years ago.
On Thursday morning, passersby noticed many of the flags were pulled out of the ground and strewn across the paths. Garbage cans were knocked over, and signs explaining the significance of the memorial were missing.
