1 – CNN’s Van Jones: Biden’s honeymoon is over and he made promises he can’t keep
Fox News reports: CNN commentator Van Jones faced the wrath of liberals for negative remarks about the state of the Biden administration on CNN Tuesday.
“Right now, the honeymoon’s over,” he said on “Cuomo Prime Time.”
The headlines have been overwhelmingly negative for the White House this week, following a poor jobs report, a 13-year high inflation rate, and a declining average approval rating for President Joe Biden. Meanwhile, his controversial and pricey Build Back Better plan has stalled among fierce infighting in the Democratic Party.
“He’s doing a lot of good stuff,” Jones said. “The problem is that he put himself in a position where he made big, bold claims about the rest of the agenda.”
“He steps on a rake, he slips on a banana peel, then he falls down the stairs with some marbles, and now people are looking at him in a negative light.”

2 – GOP candidate flips Iowa House seat in ‘area Democrats held for 46 years’
The Washington Examiner reports: Iowa Republicans flipped a seat in the state House held by Democrats for years.
GOP candidate Jon Dunwell defeated his Democratic opponent Steve Mullan in Tuesday’s special election. Dunwell was ahead with nearly 60% of the vote, a 930-vote difference, according to unofficial results posted by the Jasper County Elections Office.
“Republicans have just officially FLIPPED a Iowa House District in an area Democrats held for 46 years!” Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a congratulatory tweet on Tuesday.
The victory gives Republicans a 60-40 majority in the Iowa House, the Des Moines Register reported . The district has a population of roughly 33,000 people, according to Ballotpedia .

3 – Art Institute of Chicago Fires Majority White Docents Because of ‘Equity’ Concerns
The Free Beacon reports: The Art Institute of Chicago fired all 122 of its unpaid, volunteer docents, seemingly because most of them are white.
Woman’s Board Executive Director of Learning and Public Engagement Veronica Stein on Sept. 3 gave the docents a collective pink slip, saying the museum’s docent program doesn’t adequately respond to “issues of class and income equity.”
The majority of the museum’s former docents are white, older women, the Chicago Tribune noted in its editorial on the firing.
“Once you cut through the blather, the letter basically said the museum had looked critically at its corps of docents, a group dominated by mostly (but not entirely) white, retired women with some time to spare, and found them wanting as a demographic,” the Tribune wrote.
The 122 former docents had to go through rigorous, 18-month training sessions, 5 years of research, and biweekly further trainings for their unpaid service. They will be replaced, Stein said, by a “limited number of paid educators” the museum will choose based on “an income equity-focused lens.”
