1 – Whispering Joe returns: Biden leans into microphone to warn he’ll VETO Republican bill that would eliminate the IRS – and sarcastically says ‘moms’ will love GOP bid to introduce a ‘national sales tax’
The Daily Mail reports: Whispering Joe made a return Thursday, as President Joe Biden leaned into the microphone and pledged to reject House Republicans’ tax legislation, should the bills pass.
‘Let me be very clear, if any of these bills make it to my desk: I will veto them,’ Biden said in hushed tones.
The president was giving an update on the economy Thursday morning and slammed the new GOP House majority for passing a bill Monday night that would roll back $72 billion to bolster the ranks of the IRS, which Republicans said was for the hiring of ‘87,000 agents.’
‘Like many Americans I was disappointed that the very first bill that Republicans in the House of Representatives passed would help wealthy people and big corporations cheat on their taxes at the expense of ordinary middle-class taxpayers,’ he said.
He then ridiculed the GOP’s other ideas – passing a ‘national sales tax’ and eliminating the IRS.

ANNETA G: As if the above wasn’t bad enough, here’s an extended version of Biden’s remarks. In less than 2 minutes, he successfully twists and warps the messaging about multiple bills the Republicans are trying to get passed. Why isn’t someone fact-checking this guy?
House Republicans are “cutting taxes for billionaires, raising taxes for working families, making inflation worse” with bills they aim to pass, says Pres. Biden.

2 – Special Counsel investigating Biden’s classified documents connected to Russia hoax Steel dossier
Breitbart reports: Special Counsel Robert Hur, appointed Thursday by Attorney General Merrick Garland to probe President Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified information, was among those at the Justice Department who had knowledge about the Russia hoax perpetrated on former President Donald Trump.
According to a Justice Department document, Hur is a former DOJ official “who handled, participated in, or have personal knowledge of the FBI’s relationship and communications with” Christopher Steele, who authored the infamous dossier that paved the way for the Russia hoax.
Hur began his career by clerking for the late Chief Justice William Rehnquist after graduating from Harvard and Stanford. Hur was then hired as the principal associate deputy attorney general, “serving as the top aide to Rod J. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general under President Donald Trump. Before that, he had also been special assistant to Christopher A. Wray, who was leading the Justice Department’s criminal division at the time and went on to become the FBI director,” according to the Washington Post.
Rosenstein announced Hur’s appointment in a press release, praising him as having “experience and judgment [that] will advance our efforts to deter crime, promote the rule of law, and ensure equal justice for everyone.”
Robert Hur was also among those @TheJusticeDept ID’d for the @JusticeOIG as:
“officials who handled, participated in, or have personal knowledge of the FBI’s relationship and communications with” dossier author Christopher Steele.

3 – Joe Rogan puts leftist mega-donor George Soros on blast
Fox News reports: Joe Rogan and a former CIA agent roasted liberal mega-donor George Soros on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, posted on Wednesday.
Rogan spoke about controversial Democratic mega-donors with former CIA covert operations officer, and current CEO of Portman Square Group, Mike Baker. The conversation turned to Soros and his influence on local politicians.
“I had a conversation with the governor of Texas about him, with Greg Abbott, where he was explaining to me what George Soros does, and it’s f—ing terrifying that he donates money to a very progressive, very leftist – whether it’s a D.A. or whatever politician, and then funds someone who is even further left than them to go against them,” Rogan noted. “He just keeps moving it along, so he’s playing like a global game and that he enjoys doing it.”
Baker observed that Soros demonstrated an insightful knowledge of where the power to change society on the ground level really lies.
“It’s telling, right? He understood early on where you wanted to seize power, right? Sometimes you think ,‘A senator, that’s the pinnacle of success,’ well, it’s not, really. It’s the D.A.’s, and it’s the state level politicians. That’s where real change occurs and where things can happen,” he noted.
“Or real corrosion,” Rogan replied. “That’s what’s scary, is that it seems like he funds corrosion, it’s like he wants these cities to fall apart, he wants crime to flourish, it’s almost like he’s an evil person in a Batman movie.”
ANNETA G: Who thinks Republicans should open a special investigation into Soros?
4 – Gov. Gavin Newsom Authorizes Non-Citizens to Police Americans as Cops
Breitbart reports: Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) has started implementing a new law in the sanctuary state of California that allows recently-arrived border crossers to police American citizens as law enforcement officers with local, county, and state agencies.
Last year, Newsom signed S.B. 960, which only requires that law enforcement officers in the state have a work permit to be employed in the United States — removing residency requirements that mandated law enforcement officers be either American citizens or green card-holders that had at least filed to become naturalized American citizens.
The new law, which went into effect this month in California, states:
Existing law establishes the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training within the Department of Justice to perform various functions involving the training of peace officers. Existing law requires peace officers in this state to meet specified minimum standards, including, among other requirements, being at least 18 years of age, being of good moral character, as determined by a thorough background investigation, and being either a citizen of the United States or a permanent resident who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship, except as prescribed. [Emphasis added]
This bill would provide that those standards shall be interpreted and applied consistent with federal law and regulations, as specified. The bill would remove the provision that requires peace officers to either be a citizen of the United States or be a permanent resident who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship, and would instead require peace officers be legally authorized to work in the United States, and make conforming changes. [Emphasis added]
As the new year approaches, the California Highway Patrol has compiled a list of new laws which were passed during the legislative season and signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom, according to a release from the department. https://t.co/0Yk3EAW4QL

5 – Two children shot while getting off D.C. Metrobus
The Washington Examiner reports: Two Washington, D.C., children were shot while getting off the Metrobus on Wednesday afternoon.
The children, ages 6 and 9, were found conscious near 14th Street and Sheridan Street, according to Metro Transit Police. They were taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The incident started when a group of people, between four to six young men, began assaulting a passenger on a 54 Metrobus traveling north on 14th Street NW.
The assault moved onto the street, and one member of the group fired a gun, shooting a boy and a girl who appeared to be coming home from school as they were getting off.
Another male adult was shot, as well, and ran to a nearby apartment building. He was also taken to the hospital after police arrived at the apartment to administer aid.
ANNETA G: Why is it that all Democrat-run cities are descending into lawlessness? Children should NOT have to grow up this way.
