1 – RNC to Trump: If you run for president, we stop paying your legal bills, per official
ABC News reports: Republican leaders who worry that Donald Trump could hurt their midterm chances by announcing a presidential run too soon are hoping he’ll be dissuaded from doing so by the prospect of losing hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal payments, according to an RNC official.
Since October 2021, the Republican National Committee has paid nearly $2 million to law firms representing Trump as part of his defense against personal litigation and government investigations.
But an RNC official told ABC News that as soon as Trump would announce he is running for president, the payments would stop because the party has a “neutrality policy” that prohibits it from taking sides in the presidential primary.
This just in … the RNC is warning Trump it will stop paying his legal bills if he launches a presidential campaign.
That’s right. They are still paying his personal legal bills — more than $1.7 million since October. https://t.co/UG9zGArZP8

MY TAKE: Trump’s support is growing. When he’s ready, he’ll announce.
2 – Judge Halts Punishment of Airmen Who Filed for Religious Exemptions from Vaccine Mandate
Breitbart reports: Judge Matthew W. McFarland of the Southern District of Ohio on Wednesday granted a preliminary injunction against the Air Force from punishing airmen who filed for a religious exemption to the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate.
The order came almost two weeks after McFarland ordered a temporary restraining order against the Air Force from pursuing punitive measures against those airmen, and the Air Force did not successfully argue against it.
McFarland wrote that the Air Force failed to raise any “persuasive arguments” for why the Court should not extend an existing Preliminary Injunction prohibiting the Air Force from punishing a group of plaintiffs to all airmen seeking religious exemption. He added:
[T]he Court reminds Defendants that ‘[i]t is emphatically the province and duty of the judicial department to say what the law is. Thus, due to the systematic nature of what the Court views as violations of Airmen’s constitutional rights to practice their religion as they please, the Court is well within its bounds to extend the existing preliminary injunction to all Class Members.
MY TAKE: BRAVO!
3 –Turning Point USA responds to apology from ABC show after threatening lawsuit
Fox News reports: Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk slammed “The View’s” liberal panelists on “Jesse Watters Primetime” for tying the conservative group’s summit last weekend to neo-Nazi demonstrators.
CHARLIE KIRK: They [“The View”] went after our 5,000 students at our event there of high school and college kids. And look, I get attacked all the time, people say false things, I’m a public figure. But when you go after 16 and 17-year-olds that travel from across the country that then have to live for the rest of their life with a shadow over them because someone at ABC says that they might be linked to neo-Nazis … But look, what did it take for us to get to the point of an apology? We had to threaten a lawsuit, Jesse. And by the way, we’re still entertaining it. We’re talking to some of the best lawyers out there that are experts in this. And as you know, these things can be very complicated.
MY TAKE: I hope Turning Point sues them and gets a lot of money to hold more events.
4 – Chris Rock addresses Will Smith Oscars slap while on comedy tour with Kevin Hart: ‘I’m not a victim’
Fox News reports: Chris Rock discussed the infamous Will Smith Oscars slap while on stage during a recent appearance for his “Only Headliners Allowed” comedy tour with Kevin Hart in New Jersey.
The comedian admitted the hit from the Academy Award-winner “hurt,” but insisted he wasn’t a “victim” as he joked with the audience at the PNC Bank Arts Center.
“Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face,” Rock told the crowd, according to Us Weekly. He later added, “I’m not a victim. Yeah, that s— hurt, motherf—er. But, I shook that s— off and went to work the next day. I don’t go to the hospital for a paper cut.”

MY TAKE: Rock should have pressed charges against Smith for assault.
5 – US signs off on 800,000 more doses of monkeypox vaccine
ABC News reports: WASHINGTON — After weeks of delays, nearly 800,000 doses of the monkeypox vaccine will soon be available for distribution, U.S. health regulators said Wednesday.
The announcement comes amid growing criticism that authorities have been too slow in deploying the vaccine, potentially missing the window to contain what could soon become an entrenched infectious disease.
Nearly two weeks ago, the Food and Drug Administration said it had finished the necessary inspections at Bavarian Nordic’s facility in Denmark, where the company fills vials of the vaccine. The FDA said via Twitter on Wednesday that the certification had been finalized. The doses are already in the U.S. “so that they would be ready to be distributed once the manufacturing changes were approved,” the agency said.
There were more than 4,600 reported monkeypox cases in the U.S. as of late Wednesday.
The FDA has signed off on 800,000 additional doses of monkeypox vaccine, which U.S. health officials will begin allocating to states on Thursday. https://t.co/olsN67CHQD
