1 – White House: Biden monitoring ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, encourages discrimination complaints
The Hill reports: President Biden’s Department of Education will be monitoring Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” law, which went into effect on Friday, and encourages people to file discrimination complaints, according to the White House.
“Any student or parent who believes they are experiencing discrimination is encouraged to file a complaint with the Department’s Office for Civil Rights. Our Administration will continue to fight for dignity and opportunity for every student and family—in Florida and around the country,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement.
Jean-Pierre, in her statement, said Biden has been clear that every student deserves to feel safe and welcome in the classroom, and she called the law “discrimination, plain and simple.”
“It’s part of a disturbing and dangerous nationwide trend of right-wing politicians cynically targeting LGBTQI+ students, educators, and individuals to score political points,” Jean-Pierre said.
“As the state’s shameful ‘Don’t Say Gay’ law takes effect, state officials who claim to champion liberty are limiting the freedom of their fellow Americans simply to be themselves,” Biden’s press sec says in statement.

Biden on Friday said that the Department of Education will use its power to protect students in the wake of the new law.
Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” law takes effect today – the latest attempt by Republicans in state houses to target LGBTQI+ students, teachers, and families.
Legislators shouldn’t be in the business of censoring educators, and @usedgov will do all in its power to protect students.

MY TAKE: The federal government shouldn’t be in the business of censoring states – Biden needs to get his nose out of this! Oh, DeSantis must be interfering in Democrats’ plan for their “liberal world order?”

2 – Manufacturing hits lowest level since June 2020
Fox Business reports: Economic activity in the U.S. manufacturing sector slowed more than expected in June to the lowest level in two years, as both demand and employment contracted according to the latest data.
The Institute for Supply Management’s manufacturing purchasing manager’s index fell more than 3 points last month from May to 53%, the lowest reading since June 2020. Analysts polled by Refinitiv had expected June’s PMI to come in higher at 54.9%.
Demand in the industry dropped last month, with ISM’s new orders index falling 5.9 points to 49.2%. “The U.S. manufacturing sector continues to be powered — though less so in June — by demand while held back by supply chain constraints,” said Timothy Fiore, who overseas the survey.
The manufacturing employment index also fell in June to a reading of 47.3%, declining for the second month in a row.
MY TAKE: Joe Biden is literally pushing America off the cliff. Trump would have had the economy buzzing right now!
3 – Vasectomy Clinics See Increase in Bookings Following Roe Reversal
Breitbart reports: Vasectomy clinics are reportedly seeing a sharp rise in men booking appointments since Roe v. Wade was overturned last week.
Despite no data readily available to confirm this trend, urologists nationwide are noticing a sudden increase in bookings – with some even saying they are now booked until the end of August.
One Iowa urologist noted a 200 to 250 percent increase in bookings at his clinic, while a Los Angeles urologist saw a 300 to 400 percent rise in bookings, the Washington Post reported.
However, one Kansas City urologist reported a whopping “900 percent” spike in men seeking to undergo the sterilizing procedure. “Typically, it’s about three over a weekend, and over this past weekend, it was 50 people,” Dr. Christian Hettinger with Kansas City Urology Care told Fox 29.
Doctors are attributing this spike in appointments to last week’s Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which ruled that abortion is not a constitutional right and threw the issue back to state legislatures.
MY TAKE: Well, well, well… they CAN come up with an alternative to killing babies!
