1 – Christie slams Trump while launching 2024 bid
The Hill reports: Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) announced on Tuesday that he’s running for president, setting up a rematch against former President Trump in 2024.

While speaking in the Granite State, Christie took jabs at President Biden and former President Trump. He said that Trump “made us smaller” for pitting groups against each other and arguing Biden was doing the same thing as he painted Republicans “with just one brush.”

He went to criticize Trump even more, saying a “lonely, self-consumed, self-serving mirror hog is not a leader” and comparing him to “Voldemort,” the villain in the “Harry Potter” series.

Christie’s launch, which he made official during a town hall at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire, comes after he filed paperwork earlier on Tuesday declaring his candidacy.

Fox News is not impressed:

ANNETA G: Chris Christie will never be president.  Period. And I’ve never seen such an UN-excited crowd.  Hilarious!

2 – Trump responds to Christie’s 2024 announcement
Former President Donald Trump posted a statement on his Truth Social account after former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie officially announced he is joining the GOP primary presidential race.

Trump wrote:

“How many times did Chris Christie use the word SMALL? Does he have a psychological problem with SIZE? Actually, his speech was SMALL, and not very good. It rambled all over the place, and nobody had a clue of what he was talking about. Hard to watch, boring, but that’s what you get from a failed Governor (New Jersey) who left office with a 7% approval rating and then got run out of New Hampshire. This time, it won’t be any different!”

Donald Trump Jr. mocked Christie as well, tweeting, “Krispy Kreme Christie isn’t going small, that’s for sure.”

ANNETA G: Agree!

3 – 9/11 Families Blast PGA Tour for Sudden Merger with Saudi-Backed LIV Golf
Breitbart reports: A group representing surviving family members of those who died during the terror attacks on 9/11/2001 is blasting the PGA Tour for its sudden and surprising announcement that it is merging with LIV Golf, which is backed by the Saudi Arabian government.

9/11 Families United said LIV Golf is “bankrolled by billions of sportswashing money from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” and accused the Saudi government of playing a role in the terror attacks that killed nearly 3,000 Americans.

The group has consistently criticized LIV Golf over its connection to the Saudi Royal Family.

Terry Strada, whose husband died in the terror attacks in 2001, accused PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan of being a “Saudi shill,” according to HuffPost.

ANNETA G: Never forget!

4 – 200 LGBTQ groups demand Target restock Pride merchandise, release statement now
Fox News reports: More than 200 LGBTQ groups angered by Target’s decision to pull Pride merchandise from shelves are demanding the company “denounce extremists” and restock all the Pride merchandise in stores and online.

The Human Rights Campaign, along with GLAAD, GLSEN and other groups, released a statement asking Target and other businesses like Anheuser-Busch to “reject and speak out against anti-LGBTQ+ extremism going into Pride Month.” More than 200 other progressive and LGBTQ organizations signed on to the statement, which argued that showing support for their community was good for business.

The organizations laid out a three-part demand that calls on Target to restock all the Pride merchandise both in stores and online, ensure the safety of Target employees and release a statement “reaffirming their commitment to the LGBTQ+ community” within 24 hours.

“When it comes to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion, there is no such thing as neutrality,” the LGTBQ coalition said.

The coalition suggested they would continue to support Target and other businesses who rejected criticism from consumers.

“Target, and all businesses, can leverage the support of LGBTQ+ organizations to navigate this hate, so that together, we can let extremists know unequivocally that, just as with every other failed anti-LGBTQ+ campaign of the past, fear will not win,” the statement reads.

ANNETA G: This is literally a war between good and evil.

5 – Christian man arrested for quoting Bible verse at pride event
Just The News reports: Pennsylvania police arrested a Christian man over the weekend after he began quoting a Bible verse during a pride event in the town of Reading.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning outside the town’s city hall, according to the Lancaster Patriot. Revelers had gathered to participate in the city’s first “Pride March and Rally.”

Video footage shows Damon Atkins standing on the sidewalk across from the event speaking to a police officer, whom the Patriot identified as Police Sergeant Bradley T. McClure. McClure warns Atkins against disrupting the event.

Atkins insists in the video that he is on public property, which McClure admits, before telling Atkins to “let them have their day,” in reference to the pride event attendees. Atkins countered that he was respecting them and ultimately began reciting a Bible verse, but only got so far as to say “God is not-” before the officer arrested him. Atkins later said he intended to quote from 1 Corinthians 14:33.

“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints,” the verse reads.

He was charged with “Disorderly Conduct Engage in Fighting.”

ANNETA G: Just can’t make this stuff up.
