1 – Democratic official endorses DeSantis, says ‘there is too much on the line’
Washington Examiner reports: Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) received the endorsement of a longtime Democrat and Palm Beach County official on Tuesday, saying that “there is too much on the line” ahead of the November gubernatorial election.

Dave Kerner is the county’s Democratic commissioner, as well as the former two-term mayor. He is also a former City of Alachua law enforcement officer and served in Florida’s House of Representatives as the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee for two terms.

“Endorsing Gov. @RonDeSantisFL was the obvious choice this election cycle. Gov. DeSantis’ Dem opponent has called for reallocation of resources away from law enforcement. FL cannot afford people like Charlie Crist who wants to defund the police & make our communities less safe,” Kerner tweeted.

MY TAKE: Bravo! A Democrat without blinders who can think for himself. So rare.

2 – ‘Heartbreaking’: Cuomo blasts Biden and Pelosi for abandoning him amid scandal
Washington Examiner reports: Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo blasted his onetime political allies, including President Joe Biden, for turning on him as he battled political scandal in 2021.

Cuomo, who resigned last August amid pressure from Biden, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and others within his party, accused the high-profile Democrats of being fair-weather friends whose betrayal was “traumatizing” and “heartbreaking.”

“Nobody. It was tough. Traumatizing,” Cuomo said when asked which friends stood by him as he fended off accusations of sexual impropriety, which he vehemently denied. “Biden, a friend 20 years, not knowing details, immediately said about me, ‘He’s got to go.’ Biden had troubles years before and I stood by him. Gave him the benefit of the doubt. It was heartbreaking to see him trash me without reading one page, making one phone call.”

MY TAKE: Zero shock that these Dems group think/react. But it’s pretty clear that Cuomo is a scumbag. So, Cuomo, lick your wounds, find a church, get a job, and go away!

3 – McDonald’s to face $10B race discrimination suit from Byron Allen
NY Post reports: McDonald’s and media mogul Byron Allen will face off in court next year over Allen’s $10 billion racial discrimination lawsuit, a federal judge in Los Angeles ruled.

The case — in which the comedian turned media mogul accuses McDonald’s of deliberately choosing not to advertise with black-owned media outlets, including his AMG Entertainment Studios and Weather Group — has been simmering for more than a year.

Allen’s complaint alleges that McDonald’s gives less than $5 million of its $1.6 billion annual television advertising budget to black-owned media despite the fact that black consumers represent about 40% of McDonald’s US sales.

The court’s latest decision “has nothing whatsoever to do with the merits of the case, but simply allows Mr. Allen to continue to try, as he has for more than a year now, to substantiate his speculative and conclusory claims,” legal counsel Loretta Lynch said in a statement. “We believe the evidence will show that there was no discrimination and that Entertainment Studios’ claims are meritless.”

MY TAKE: Why?

  1. So is Byron Allen saying that McDonalds does not have the right to choose the media company they like? Does he strong arm all his clients with threats of discrimination lawsuits?

  2. Black people are responsible for 40% of McDonald’s sales. It makes sense to spread their advertising $$ around so their sales are more in line with the country’s population.

  3. So now they can tell you where and how to spend your money? Ridiculous! This case should be laughed out of court! Enough of the race card!

  4. I’m curious as to how does the statistician know that 40% of the McD consumers are Black? I mean it’s not like they announce their race as they’re ordering a Big Mac. How about Whites?Asians? How about Illegal Immigrants. I call BS on the stats
