Elon Musk resurfaces on social media after speculation about long absence

Never fear, Elon Musk has resurfaced on social media, after a 10-day absence that had some people wondering where in the world he went.

Fox Business speculated about Musk’s silence in a report Friday morning, dramatically titled, “Elon Musk Twitter silence reaches 9 days.”

The report begins:

Billionaire Elon Musk has remained unusually silent on social media for over a week amid his continued bid to purchase the Twitter platform.

Musk has not posted on his personal Twitter account in nine days, leading many to wonder why the usually social media-addicted CEO has gone quiet.

The questions are compounded by Musk’s intentions to purchase the Twitter platform, which he has said serves an important function in today’s world but is compromised by bias and politics.

His last post before going dark was on Jun. 21, when he replied to a tweet about SpaceX and the Federal Communications Commission.

Musk’s absence had caused a panic:

Friday night, Musk suddenly started blasting out a series of Twitter posts. The first was a quote: “If you leave your game, stay safe, stay alert, and what ever you do, DON’T DIE, because if you die outside your own game you don’t regenerate, EVER! Game Over!”

The post appears to be a tribute to a popular YouTuber, who went by the name Technoblade.  Only 23 years old, Technoblade had stage 4 cancer, and his family announced on Friday that he had passed away.

“Feeling … perhaps … a little bored?” Musk tweeted next.

In the next tweet, Musk shared a photo and announced he met the Pope yesterday.

The next post appears to be an old photo of Musk with his ex-wife, Talulah Riley, who he actually married twice.  The couple were married from 2010 to 2012, and again from 2013 to 2016.

Richest man in the world & you only bought her 1/2 a dress … smh,” wrote one Twitter user.

“Talulah designed that dress herself and much of my 40th birthday party. She is a party genius. ♥️,” Musk responded.

Perhaps Musk was just off celebrating his latest birthday. He turned 51 on Tuesday, June 28, and his mother wished him a happy birthday by sharing an old photo.

“Happy birthday @elonmusk 🎂🥳 Thank you for making the world a better place in the past 1/4 century🥰 #ProudMom,” wrote Maye Musk in a tweet.

Some Twitter users are already celebrating Musk’s return:

  1. In my opinion,if Elon does buy Twitter and has control, ppl will flock to Twitter like crazy!! I have never been on Twitter but if Elon was in control of it,I would join it.

  2. If Elon is owner I will reopen my account. I hope he’s able to buy it. I worry he’s been off so long. With these nut jobs you never know, they sure don’t want him to own it

  3. Just demonstrates how absurd society has become. Tuning out social media , livinh real life without the electronic tether would do a lot of people some good.
