Christian evangelical leader Franklin Graham posted a statement on social media on Monday, asking all Christians to pray for former President Donald Trump.

This comes amid rumors that Soros-funded Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg may be planning to indict Trump this week, over the case of a payment allegedly made to adult film start Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign season.

Below is Rev. Graham’s full statement:

We need to pray for our country and where it is headed. The left in Washington and across the country just can’t get their fill of attacking Donald Trump. They are so paranoid of him. The onslaught against him is continual. There’s no question, the media and the left manipulated the last election, and they are scared to death of Donald Trump’s possible return.

So, night after night, the media runs negative stories about former President Trump. Now they’re talking about the possibility of arresting him in the hopes that this would prevent him from running for president again—this would be a huge mistake. The charges against him are definitely politically motivated.

I would like to ask Christians across this country to pray specifically for former President Donald J. Trump, that God’s hand would be upon him, protect him, and direct him in every step he takes—and that God’s will be done. We need to work together to strengthen this nation—not divide and destroy it.

Graham’s post on Facebook has already received over 6,000 comments.

Trump shared Graham’s post on his Truth Social page Monday evening.

  1. We must As One all pray as Pastor Graham has requested. Prayer is very powerful & this Country needs all the help it can get & may God protect Trump from being inducted tomorrow!

  2. I’m already praying for him and will continue to do so. I think the Holy Spirt has prompted many Christians to pray for our rightful President !! Have mercy on us Father.
