RESEDA (CBSLA) – Three young children were found stabbed to death Saturday morning at an apartment in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Reseda. The children’s mother, a suspect in the killings who may have committed a carjacking in the Bakersfield area, was later captured in Northern California.

Los Angeles police confirmed to CBSLA that the stabbings were reported by the children’s grandmother at 9:30 a.m. at an apartment in the 8000 block of Reseda Boulevard.

The article goes on to state the following:

All three victims appeared to be under the age of five. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The children’s grandmother reportedly went to the apartment Saturday morning, and found all three children had been stabbed to death.

Police then released a notice, looking for the children’s mother, Liliana Carrillo, 30.

The Los Angeles Police Department announced the horrific incident in a series of Twitter posts on Saturday:

Today at about 9:30 AM, West Valley Patrol Officers responded to the 8000 block of Reseda Blvd for a radio call involving a possible death at one of the apartments. The officers went inside an apartment and discovered 3 children at scene.

LA City Fire Department personnel pronounced all 3 children deceased at scene. Investigators from Robbery-Homicide Division and Juvenile Division will be conducting this investigation. The children all appear to be under the age of 5 years old.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, as well as a motive. At this time we are asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest in this case, a female Hispanic 30 years old named Liliana Carrillo.

We are receiving reports that she just committed a carjacking in the Bakersfield area and might be driving in a stolen Silver Toyota pickup license J258T0. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call 213-486-6890 or email [email protected]

Soon after police posted the notice of the carjacking, NBC Los Angeles reported that Carrillo was captured in Ponderosa City.

CBSLA also reported that Carrillo was caught in Northern California.

Police then posted an update Saturday afternoon, saying, “Liliana Carrillo has been taken into custody in the Ponderosa area of Tulare County.”
