Elon Musk on Monday teased forthcoming files that will reveal how and why Twitter suppressed certain accounts at the expense of free speech.
“The Twitter Files on free speech suppression soon to be published on Twitter itself,” Musk tweeted Monday, without elaborating. “The public deserves to know what really happened…”
Critics, particularly those on the right, have long criticized the platform for what they regard as unfair and obscure standards regarding which accounts are censored or suspended.

Last week, Musk agreed with a tweet from Alex Lorusso, executive producer of The Benny Report on Newsmax, who called for Musk to “make public all internal discussions about the decision to censor the @NYPost’s story on Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 Election in the interest of Transparency.”
“This is necessary to restore public trust,” Musk replied.

Musk also fired back on Monday after White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that the Biden administration is “keeping a close eye” on Twitter now that Musk has taken over, due to alleged concerns about the spread of “misinformation” and” incitement to violence.”
“Why are so many in the media against free speech? This is messed up,” Musk declared.

RedState columnist Buzz Patterson responded to Musk, tweeting, “Their world view doesn’t rely on truth. It relies on emotion and truth interferes with that. Freedom of speech interferes with them controlling the narrative. And here you are to flip that.”

Journalist Colin Wright tweeted, “The massive immune response we are seeing from Left-wing media and Big Tech to @elonmusk‘s commitment to free speech on Twitter should frighten you. It has revealed their rabid obsession for complete narrative control. This is a battle they cannot be allowed to win.”
Musk responded with his own chilling warning: “This is a battle for the future of civilization. If free speech is lost even in America, tyranny is all that lies ahead.”

Musk has also called out Apple and Google for yanking apps they don’t agree with.
Tuesday morning, business man David Sacks tweeted, “As long as Tech MAGA (Microsoft, Apple, Google, and Amazon) have unlimited power to engage in bundling and to act as gatekeepers of competitive products, there cannot be a healthy startup ecosystem.”
“It’s a real problem. Apple and Google effectively control access to most of the Internet via their app stores,” Musk responded.
