Former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden in a hypothetical 2024 presidential election matchup, according to a CBS News/YouGov poll and a Harvard-Harris poll.

The CBS News/YouGov poll released Sunday shows that 50 percent of 4,002 U.S. adults sampled would vote for Trump in a rematch of the 2020 presidential election while 49 percent would back Biden. Just one percent of voters are undecided in such a scenario.

Trump enjoys a double-digit advantage among independent voters at 57 percent to Biden’s 42 percent. Biden takes a slim six-point lead among Hispanic voters.

Out of the nearly 2,700 registered voters who participated in the survey, only 34 percent believe Biden would finish a second term if reelected, while most voters predict Trump would finish a second term.

“Those who think Mr. Biden would leave during a second term are going 84% for Trump,” CBS News reported.

CBS News noted that almost all of his voters give say that “things were better under Trump,” while not all say they like him personally.

“Voters overall, as well as independents, in particular, who feel they are financially worse off now than before the pandemic are backing Trump; the latter group by more than three to one,” CBS News wrote.

“By almost three to one, voters think only Trump – and not Biden – is physically healthy enough for the job, despite them being just a few years apart. And more think only Trump – not Biden – has the cognitive & mental health to serve,” CBS News reported from the survey.
