Hunter Biden and President Biden’s national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, served together on the board of the Truman National Security Project, a liberal foreign policy think tank, for roughly two years before Sullivan joined the president’s campaign in 2020.

Hunter, who started serving on the board in 2012, and Sullivan both served on the Washington-based nonprofit’s board between 2017 and early 2019, according to internet archives captured by the Wayback Machine.

During that time, Hunter was also serving on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings and the Chinese private equity fund BHR Partners. The federal investigation into Hunter’s foreign business dealings, which is still ongoing, also launched during the same time frame in 2018.

A Twitter post September 6, 2012 is still up, where the Truman Project bragged that Hunter Biden was on their board.

Sullivan’s ties to the Obamas, Bidens and Clintons are deep.  The report explains that Sullivan was national security adviser for Joe Biden when he was vice president during the Obama administration, where he traveled with Biden to multiple countries, including China.

Hunter Biden was along for some of those trips as well.

Sullivan also held multiple roles with Hillary Clinton, including chief foreign policy adviser during her 2016 presidential campaign and deputy chief of staff when she was secretary of state.  He is also now well known for having written a statement that Clinton pushed out, falsely alleging that Donald Trump colluded with Russia just prior to the 2016 election.

After Clinton lost the 2016 election, Sullivan joined Hunter Biden on the board for the Truman Project from 2017 to 2019.

Currently, the Truman Project has the following tweet promoting MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow pinned to the top of their Twitter account.

“Rachel Maddow covers today’s biggest stories, always placing justice, equality and values at the center of the conversation. We are thrilled to announce she will be this year’s TruCon23 keynote speaker!” the group writes.
