The VP Pick and How It Will Work

FUTURE READY: THE PEFECT VP FOR TRUMP

Every weekend, I dedicate my focus to matters that shape our nation and society's future. I call it FUTURE READY, and this week, amid the buzz surrounding Trump's potential running mate, I aim to offer insight into the unfolding process and articulate why I believe a particular candidate is the best choice.

Before we begin, let's address some crucial housekeeping items that are vital for enhancing the Great American Newsletter process.

1. THEY CENSOR YOUR INBOX: Email services like Google and Yahoo have a reputation for filtering inboxes, often sidelining conservative voices like mine. While they inundate you with liberal-leaning newsletters, those of us committed to truth and conservatism frequently find ourselves relegated to the spam folder. To circumvent this bias and ensure you receive every newsletter without fail, I recommend downloading the DML NEWS APP from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. It's free, and by keeping your notifications enabled, you'll never miss an update. Additionally, each newsletter is promptly published on the app a few hours after my email blast, providing an alternative means of access.

2. Mr. Lynch: My last name is the sender of the email. If you're reading this newsletter because it landed in your inbox, but you are not receiving my Monday through Friday editions, I assure you they're likely landing in your spam folder. To rectify this, you must locate them in your spam folder and move them to your inbox. For detailed instructions tailored to various email services, please visit GreatAmericanNewsletter.com. On the homepage, you'll find Trump's face, next to which are step-by-step instructions for most email platforms.

3. Social media. If you use Twitter (“X”), then you would be well-served to follow my new account @TrustDML. You can also follow me on Facebook @DMLNewsApp. Every day, I share the link to the latest newsletter on these accounts.

PICKING HIS VP

As I see it, Trump has five options to consider when determining the right pick.

1. Some believe he needs to broaden his appeal to minorities.
I don't subscribe to this strategy. I believe that all individuals, regardless of their ethnicity—whether white, black, Hispanic, or any other—share a common frustration with the detrimental impacts of open borders, rampant inflation, and divisive woke policies on our nation. In matters concerning the nation's well-being, ethnicity holds no significance. I support this assertion with the following analogy: Imagine suffering from a severe toothache that threatens your health, and you’re black or Hispanic. The only competent dentist available to alleviate your pain is a 78-year-old white man. Would you let racial considerations prevent you from seeking his expertise and resolving your agony? The answer is unequivocally clear.

Hence, the notion of selecting South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott purely for the sake of his race is ludicrous. While he may be a pleasant individual, he lacks the qualities of a true leader. When he speaks, his demeanor and message resemble that of a middle-management team member rather than an executive figure.

Another significant error would be selecting Hispanic Florida Sen. Marco Rubio. IIt's crucial not to overlook his past advocacy for amnesty in 2013, when he, along with Trump adversaries Senators Jeff Flake and John McCain, collaborated with Democrats to craft a 3,000-page amnesty bill reminiscent of Obama's agenda. Given that immigration stands as one of the nation's most pressing issues, appointing Rubio to the ticket would be a betrayal to supporters like myself, whose numbers cannot be disregarded.

2. Some argue that he should choose a female candidate.
I remain steadfast in my belief that gender and race should not be determining factors. Policy alignment and commitment to America First principles are paramount.

Governor Kristi Noem appeared promising, but her recent book detailing the killing of her own dog demonstrated a level of foolishness that cannot be ignored. Therefore, she should be kept at a distance. On the other hand, I admire Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who served as Trump's press secretary. If she isn't chosen as VP, she's likely to run for president in 2028.

Other women have been suggested, such as Kari Lake, who lacks government or business leadership experience. Additionally, there are congresswomen like Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn, who also served in the House. While she possesses DC experience, she lacks the operational leadership typical of a governor.

3. MAGA, MAGA, MAGA
In this scenario, the focus isn't on race or gender, nor is it solely about operational experience; it's primarily about who can be the most effective cheerleader. Names like rookie Ohio Sen. JD Vance, Florida Rep. Byron Donalds (who, falling into Option #1, is also black), failed presidential candidate turned Fox News favorite Vivek Ramaswamy (who, being an Indian man, also falls into Option #1), and once again, Kari Lake, are frequently mentioned. While all three men and Kari Lake could excel as Press Secretary, they may not be suitable for the VP role. They are all relatively young, and Donalds and Ramaswamy have a history of leaning too liberal, which is a cause for concern.

4. Pick to help carry a state or a group.
In 2016, Trump's less-than-perfect personal history, including multiple marriages and affairs, was a turnoff for Evangelicals. Without Evangelical support, winning the nomination is virtually impossible. That's why Trump chose Mike Pence. If Trump needs to secure a state that he sees as dangerously close to going to Biden, he might consider someone like Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin. However, I view this election as a runaway train, provided there's no cheating involved. Therefore, for me, the primary consideration is who can carry the torch if Trump falls ill or is unable to fulfill his duties for any reason, and who he can trust. This leads me to option 5.

5. Best person for the job who can be counted on.
When considering individuals like Rubio, Vance, Lake, and Sanders, it's apparent that their relatively youthful age may lead them to prioritize their own interests. This isn't a criticism but rather an acknowledgment of human nature's tendency to ask, "What's in it for me?" Trump values trust and loyalty, expecting unwavering commitment at all times. Additionally, he dislikes being upstaged. Therefore, the ideal VP candidate would be someone solely dedicated to the country's welfare and uninterested in seeking the spotlight.

While many suggest North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, I have reservations about him, particularly regarding his sudden appearance in NYC to support Trump during his trial, despite not having a strong personal connection to him. This suggests a penchant for attention-seeking behavior. On the other hand, Dr. Ben Carson, whom I believe is on Trump's shortlist, stands out as the best choice. I had significant interactions with Carson during the 2016 campaign, consulting for him in debate preparation, conducting interviews at his Maryland home for my NewsmaxTV show, and following his campaign stops.

Carson possesses a calm demeanor, contrasting Trump's high energy, which ensures he won't steal the spotlight. His four years of service under Trump provide him with invaluable insights into DC's workings, the federal government, and the White House. He is exceptionally intelligent, deeply conservative, and represents minorities—a crucial factor emphasized by pundits. In 2016, Carson posed the most significant challenge to Trump, demonstrating his appeal across various demographics, including Evangelicals and African Americans. At 72, he isn't driven by personal ambition, further underscoring his commitment to serving the country's best interests.

I don't believe Carson intends to run for the presidency in 2028, reinforcing my confidence that he is motivated by genuine patriotism.

Enjoy your weekend. See you on Monday.

God bless you all.
