The New Flying Car (video)

THE FLYING CAR…
Today, Alef Aeronautics conducted a groundbreaking test flight of its Model A, a $300,000 electric flying car designed to bypass traffic jams, at Hayward Executive Airport in California.

This innovative two-seater, which can drive on roads at 25 mph and vertically take off to fly at 110 mph, successfully "jumped" over another vehicle, marking a significant step toward revolutionizing urban travel. The test showcased the car’s eight rotors and gimbaled cabin, which stabilizes passengers during flight, offering a glimpse into a future where commuters can soar above congestion.

THE SECRET…
Alef, backed by over 3,200 pre-orders, aims to deliver these vehicles by late 2025, pending full FAA certification beyond its current experimental status. The Model A, with a 200-mile road range and 110-mile flight range, could redefine transportation in gridlocked cities like Los Angeles, though it requires a runway or helipad for takeoff and landing.

While CEO Jim Dukhovny hails it as an eco-friendly solution to save time, challenges like infrastructure and regulatory hurdles remain. This test follows years of development since Alef’s founding in 2015, inspired by "Back to the Future," and signals a bold leap toward integrating flying cars into everyday life.
