THE CALL…
Gene Hackman, the 95-year-old Hollywood icon celebrated for his Oscar-winning performances in The French Connection and Unforgiven, was discovered dead alongside his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 64, in their $3.3 million Santa Fe mansion on February 26, 2025. A search warrant obtained by DailyMail.com revealed the bodies were found in a state of partial mummification and decomposition, indicating they may have been lifeless for days or even weeks.
The call starts with the caretaker, whose name is redacted, saying he believes they've just stumbled across one or two dead bodies -- he seems unsure at the time of the call -- and they need immediate assistance. The caretaker said he was locked out of the house, but could see the bodies through the window.
