If the United States Senate votes this week on the bipartisan so-called “infrastructure” bill, it would be humanly impossible for any U.S. senator to read it before voting on it.

The text of a draft of the bill, obtained exclusively by Breitbart News from U.S. Senate sources not authorized to leak it, shows the plan is 2,701 pages long.

The article goes on to state the following:

The text, which Breitbart News is publishing here so the public can see what Congress is doing in secret, shows the plan is far more sprawling and expansive than GOP senators who backed advancing it without text even existing led their constituents to believe.

NBC news correspondent Leigh Ann Caldwell tweeted the photo of the bill in print and said, “There it is. The bipartisan infrastructure bill.”

Laura Ingraham tweeted, “Remember the 17 Republican Senators who gave away all of this…for zero leverage against the corrupt Democrats.”

Breitbart editor Joel Pollak tweeted, “READ THE BILL!”

Congresswoman Mary Miller tweeted, “Do we have to pass it to see what’s in it?”

  1. A bill should not be voted on until read thoroughly. Not doing so is the stupidest thing possible. These folks hold the future of our nation in their hands and are voting on things they haven’t even read!! If they are that naive I should have them sign a blank check made out to me. Same difference. Quite a few members of Congress have a law degree. What law school teaches that protocol?

    • Don’t you see? The Democrats wanted it voted on before it that written (or finalized). That way they can sneak in it what they wanted. If that bill is that many pages long, it must have more than infrastructure involved. In fact, it probably doesn’t have much to do with building road. bridges. etc. it probably has a lot of Pelosi’s and Democrat’s radical policies to “fundamentally change America” , as Schumer promised! I’m worried to death that our country will be communist ruled by a dictator (Biden/Pelosi) until their resignations or deaths)

  2. Most, if not all, of these Senators have aides. I would think they could be employed with reading several hundred pages daily and issuing a synopsis so the poor, exhausted Senator would have some idea of why he is in the Senate. Maybe the Senator as well could take some time and scan a few pages.

  3. 2700 pages. If all the Republican Senators were assigned pages to read before the vote and a quick report on what is not in the best interest of the nation. Ex. 1 Senator and his aide could read 50 to 100 pages or broken down into even smaller numbers. There are so many asinine things in there that just a glance would set off an alarm as to, “Hell no. We’re not voting on this piece that gives the democrats exclusive right to be in power forever.” And they are sneaky enough to put something like that in there and the naive, unsuspecting Republicans vote “OK, whatever you say.”

  4. If each and every senator hasn’t read this bill in full – herself or himself – then she or he has broken their oath of office. Their staff weren’t elected – they were, and they are responsible to read these bills – and not the “cliff notes” prepared for them by different staff members.

And if the bill is “too big to read” before the vote on it, the vote should be delayed. Or, there should be multiple bills that are much smaller, each with a more narrow and focused bill purpose. OR: they should ALL vote “NO” on the bill because they don’t know what is in it.

There should NEVER be a bill that senators or representatives vote on that they haven’t personally read in its entirety.

These people were voted into office to represent us – We, The People. They work for us, and they take oaths to that effect. They have forgotten that.

It is wholly irresponsible for any senator or representative to pass any law, or spend any of The Taxpayers money without reading ALL bills in their entirety. I wonder whether there’s a law against that.

“They” can say I don’t understand “how it works.” In part, they’d be correct. But, they’ve gotten too big for their britches, and are acting with hubris.

How they’re “running” the government is WRONG. We, The People need to ask more questions, and fire those senators and representatives who are not genuinely representing us.

We need to hound them with questions; they should be able to give great detail about different parts of the bill. And, if they can’t answer questions, it should be publicly announced – repeatedly. Maybe they’re not too far gone to be embarrassed and mend their ways. But, perhaps that’s naive of me.

  5. NO DAMN BILL SHOULD BE 2700 PAGES LONG! IN FACT NO BILL SHOULD BE MORE THAN 100 PAGES. SEPARATE IT INTO 27 BILLS.

  6. Our government is broken… This country has gone to hell thanks to the most pathetic bunch of politicians we have ever had to suffer… The Republicans who supported this crap need to be voted out…

  7. America!!!! We have been played by RINO Republicans that are ignorant and stupid who just wanted to go home for us not to elect ever again!!
    TIC TOCK!

  8. SOMEONE BETTER READ THE $2,700 PAGES. THE DEMOCRATS ARE GOING TO PUT IN AMNESTY AND ONCE IF THIS BILL IS PASSED THERE GOES AMERICA

VERY SAD THAT THESE DEMOCRATS CAN GET AWAY WITH ALL THIS BS

  9. They should all be forced to take turns reading the entire thing in front of the people before it’s approved. If they have to forfeit a recess which there are to many of so be it. It’s our money we deserve to onow word for word what’s in it.

  10. I agree with all of these responses. Perhaps this sham of a 2700 page bill should be read aloud to the public. These useless idiots represent us. We should demand transparency. Each member should be assigned a section of this infrastructure bill and read it thoroughly. They can read right? This isn’t a time to be passive. Don’t give the Dems an inch. Those who voted without reading it need to be voted out! We, the people, need to stand up and protect our Republic. These are “elected” officials. Bombard their offices with phone calls, letters ! Demand transparency!!
