Big Cat Rescue founder and Netflix’s “Tiger King” star Carole Baskin clawed at Texas Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz Wednesday, accusing them of bearing some responsibility for the missing tiger that has horrified Houston residents since Mother’s Day.

“I really hope that Senators Cruz and Cornyn will sign onto the Big Cat Public Safety Act, because if they had last year when the House passed this bill – the Senate didn’t bring it up for a vote – this wouldn’t have happened,” she told CNN in a televised interview Wednesday.

The article goes on to state the following:

The act, which saw some bipartisan support in the House, is also supported by animal rights activists. It would crack down on the breeding and ownership of exotic pets like lions and tigers and would have made it illegal to keep one as a house pet.

The tiger has been missing since Sunday. A viral video showed the off-duty officer had his gun drawn on the tiger but a man driving an SUV grabbed the tiger and drove off.

During the interview, Baskin gave kudos to the off-duty officer for doing “exactly the right thing” since no people or animals were hurt during the encounter.

Baskin said, “He kept eye contact, he backed away slowly. A tiger, if you look down, if you turn, if that neighbor had run back to his door – that triggers their instinct to kill.”

  1. Cruz the ball is in ur court it looks like. Ppl aren’t responsible enough for their kids what makes u think they can take care of a wild animal that has no business being someone’s pet. These animals should never ever be a pet!

  2. These people are stupid for keeping a wild animal as a pet to begin with! They need to accept the consequences of putting others in danger by having these animals. They are the ones to blame. Just like a dem to try to deflect the blame.
