A liberal comedian who directed a racist tweet at Sen. Tim Scott, R-SC., scrubbed his board membership on an AIDS health organization from his Instagram and Twitter biographies amid a growing backlash.

Comedian Scott Nevins came under fire last week for saying Scott was “uncle Tom’ing it for his life” during his rebuttal to President Biden’s speech to a joint session of Congress last week.

The article goes on to state the following:

“Sen [Tim Scott] is uncle Tom’ing it for his life. So sad,” Nevins wrote last week before deleting it. “South Carolina should be so ashamed.”

The report notes that Nevins has removed any mention of being a board member for AIDS health organization DAP Health from his social media bios.

DAP Health had released a statement saying the personal opinions of board members did not reflect the organization’s “opinions or policies.”

In his “apology” on Thursday night, Nevins wrote, “Tonight I tried to do an ironic joke about Sen Tim Scott using the term “Uncle Tom” in his rebuttal. While I was shocked by his lack of self awareness, I should not have used that term myself, even in reference. That was not right. I apologize.”

Former Trump campaign lawyer Jenna Ellis fired back, “An apology that still takes a shot at the guy you’re apologizing to isn’t an apology.”

Natalie Johnson, communications director for Rep. Nancy Mace, responded with a screenshot, “You mean this racist tweet? But because you’re liberal this is okay?”

Another Twitter user scared screenshots of multiple other times Nevins has used the phrase “Uncle Tom,” including three times against former HUD director Ben Carson.

Twitter user Kelly, a liberal Democrat, scolded, “Dude, this wasn’t even the first time you did it. Apologies are pretty hollow when you don’t correct the behavior.”

  1. These liberal idiots just can’t stand to see a black man exhibit good, common sense! Good job Senator Tim Scott!!!

  2. Disgusting statement made. That “apology” is on3 due to the backlash. He is a disgusting individual. Not forgiven

  3. Shouldn’t he be treated like the left treats the right? Full ban from all social media platforms and the loss of your job? Your apology means nothing when you’re the epitome of left wing racism your party accuses conservatives of being for just breathing! You know where you can stick your apology, right? Jenna Ellis was spot on!
