The body of a decapitated, dismembered tech CEO was found inside a Lower East Side apartment on Tuesday afternoon — sorted in plastic bags right next to a power saw, sources told The Post.
An electric saw was found near the body, which was described as a 33-year-old man. The victim’s arms and legs below the knees were removed, and body parts were found in plastic bags found in the apartment, the sources said.
The article goes on to state the following:
The victim was last seen on surveillance footage Monday afternoon around 1:40 p.m., when he entered his building’s elevator, which opens right out to his seventh-floor apartment, sources said.
The victim was Fahim Saleh, a venture capitalist and CEO. The New York Post reported:
Born in Saudi Arabia to a Bangladeshi family, Fahim Saleh moved around before his family eventually settled on Rochester, New York, according to a 2016 blog post. He attended grade school in Poughkeepsie, then went on to study at Bentley University in Massachusetts.
He founded Gokada, the Nigeria-based motorcycle ridesharing company, in 2018 and took over as CEO last year. He recently helped transition Gokada to delivery service.
The New York Daily News reported that Saleh “made a name for himself by creating a prank phone call app that led to the downfall of a Hudson County, N.J. jail honcho.”
From their report:
Fahim Saleh’s app, PrankDial, allowed a user to set up a call between two other people and then secretly listen in.
Kirk Eady, the former deputy director of Hudson County Correctional Facility, was sentenced to 21 months in prison in Sept. 2015 for “illegally wiretapping” employees critical of his job performance. Eady has an ongoing lawsuit against Saleh and others for misleading him about the legality of the app, which he used to secretly monitor his critics.
“He was dressed like a ninja, full out, so you can’t even see his face,” the source said. “He clearly knew what he was doing. We think his intent was to get rid of the body parts and go back and clean it up and make it look like nothing happened. He left before he finished the job.”
The killer was alerted by the sister’s buzzing from the E. Houston St. lobby, where she was admitted by the virtual doorman, according to the source. The sister called 911 after stumbling upon the gruesome scene, with her millionaire tech entrepreneur brother’s limbless and headless torso inside, police said.
Saleh’s Twitter account included many inspirational business quotes and posts about Gokada. He also posted several tweets about his bright future. Examples follow:
