The youngest daughter of former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has come out in defense of her father against allegations of sexual assault.
Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo, 24, posted an article on her Twitter feed disparaging the sexual assault allegations that pushed her father out of office. The Substack article, titled “Unprecedented Abuse Of Power: What The Media Still Isn’t Telling You About The Cuomo Debacle ,” claims that the allegations are a tool used by the “progressive” wing of the New York Democratic Party. “Finally. Please read,” Kennedy-Cuomo tweeted on Friday.
The article goes on to state the following:
The article alleges that New York State Attorney General Letitia James had a “conflict of interest” in launching an independent investigation into the assault allegations filed against Cuomo due to her interest in running for governor. James announced that she was running for governor of New York in late October.
Author Michael Tracey refers to the allegations against Cuomo as a “manufactured #MeToo-style PR offensive.”
Kennedy-Cuomo, a vocal activist on matters involving sexual assault, shared the article to her Twitter page just days after her father was charged with forcible touching.
The Albany district attorney delayed his appearance over the charges after claiming that the sheriff’s attempts to arrest Cuomo are “potentially defective.”
