Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) team is scoffing at Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D-CA) Independence Day ad that encourages Florida residents to move out west to his state.

Dave Abrams, a spokesman for DeSantis’s reelection campaign, said that Florida voters are not likely impressed by Newsom’s handling of California.

The article goes on to state the following:

“The people of Florida pay no mind to the pathetic smear campaigns from the Democrats and their allies in the corporate media,” Abrams told the Daily Wire. “We’re too busy enjoying the freedom Gov. Ron DeSantis has created in the Sunshine State.”

“Gavin Newsom might as well light a pile of cash on fire,” Abrams added, in response to Newsom’s ad. “Pass the popcorn for his desperate attempt to win back the California refugees who fled the hellhole he created in his state to come to Florida.”

Below is the ad Newsom released on Sunday, encouraging Florida residents to move to California.

“I urge all of you living in Florida to join the fight — or join us in California, where we still believe in freedom: Freedom of speech, freedom to choose, freedom from hate, and the freedom to love,” Newsom declared in the ad. “Don’t let them take your freedom.”

Abrams re-tweeted a post by Outkick podcaster Clay Travis, who wrote, “California governor Gavin Newsom is currently running ads in Florida encouraging Floridians to leave because they don’t have enough freedom. How is it possible that every single Democrat is this dumb? The biggest red wave in history is coming in four months.”

Also commenting on Newsom’s ad, comedian Tim Young wrote, “If Newsom’s ad is correct that Ron DeSantis is taking away so many freedoms in Florida… why is it that so many Californians have been moving there? 🤔”

Gov. DeSantis tweeted Monday morning, “Happy 4th of July! We live in the greatest nation in the world, and I hope you spend some time today celebrating our freedoms with your family and friends.”

  4. I hope all the radicals leave FL and move to California! They deserve each other and that makes more room for American loving Patriots who certainly value real freedom. Let the swap begin or has it already!

  5. Maybe we can do an exchange. All the libs from Florida can move to Ca. And all the conservatives (yes they exist) from Ca can move to Florida. Libs can have Newsom. I’d take De Santis any day.
