Former Arizona Rep. Matthew Salmon announced Tuesday he is dropping out of a crowded GOP primary race for governor, calling a win in the Grand Canyon State “no longer a mathematical possibility.”

Salmon, who co-founded the conservative House Freedom Caucus, was among five Republicans vying for the position.

The article goes on to state the following:

“This campaign has never been about me,” Salmon said in a written statement. “It is about you — and Republicans deserve more than having their votes split in the primary.”

“I’ve been blessed with the best supporters in the world – but numbers are numbers, and primary voters deserve more than having their votes split. So, today, I am ending my #AZGov campaign for the same reason I entered it: Because it is what’s best for the people of Arizona →,” Salmon wrote.

  1. Karen Robson and Kari Lake will be the best choices. Karen has the political experience I believe that is necessary to run AZ. Her being part of Ronald Reagan’s staff and being backed by former governor Brewer she has my vote. Kari Lake on the other hand has no political experience and has been part of the MSM in AZ for over 15 years makes me question every single thing she says. Though she has Trump’s endorsement she was a supporter of Obummer and that’s a no for me. I’m sure Trump’s endorsement happened because they are in a joint suit to uncover the election fraud. Karen Robson is a staunch well documented conservative Republican and her husband the founder of Robson 50+ communities in AZ, TX and CA and her involvement with that shows the much needed business experience a governor needs to run this state, Lake has non of that. Karen’s husband was Del Webs right hand man before he went his own way.
