REPORT: Jordan Peterson Quits Twitter Over Swimsuit Backlash

As the most reliable and balanced news aggregation service on the internet, DML News App offers the following information published by Breitbart:

Dr. Jordan Peterson has quit Twitter after facing backlash for declaring that plus-size Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Yumi Nu is “not beautiful.”

“Sorry. Not beautiful. And no amount of authoritarian tolerance is going to change that,” Peterson tweeted Monday afternoon in response to a New York Post tweet about Nu, who is featured this year on a Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition cover.

The article goes on to state the following:

Peterson was subsequently attacked for his comment, with one Twitter user writing, “‘authoritarian’? Chunky women on magazine covers? You sound like a parody of you.” The account owner, known as “Vaush,” is a socialist YouTuber frequently mocked for his hot takes on lowering the age of consent and child pornography.

Peterson replied, “It’s a conscious progressive attempt to manipulate & retool the notion of beauty, reliant on the idiot philosophy that such preferences are learned & properly changed by those who know better but don’t let the facts stop you.” In the tweet he also added two papers on attractiveness.

Peterson tweeted on Monday, “The endless flood of vicious insult[s] is really not something that can be experienced anywhere else. I like to follow the people I know but I think the incentive structure of the platform makes it intrinsically and dangerously insane.”

Not long after the previous tweet was posted, Peterson wrote, “So I told my staff to change my password, to keep me from temptation, and am departing once again. If I have something to say I’ll write an article or make a video. If the issue is not important enough to justify that then perhaps it would be best to just let it go.”

  2. Petersen is correct. Social Media has become a vile hateful place where people hide behind their usernames and bots. Most people would not say the things said on SM to the persons face. Bye bye Facebook and Twitter, my soul is better for disconnecting.

  3. The model is beautiful the swimsuit style was not. There are many full non bikini swimsuit that would have made her body more attractive and accentuate her body type and bring out the beautiful person she is in and out.

    • But they won’t do that. Showing someone that compliments them is not the goal…..forcing one to call this beautiful IS the goal, even when it’s not. We see many models who didn’t like the swimsuits, but this one just shows off the wrong bits. I’m a big woman and I wouldn’t be caught dead in that mess of a swimsuit. It seems to be missing A LOT of material. This does not compliment the model-just as others (not SI) swimsuits don’t compliment emancipated looking models. Honestly, the people who do these photo shoots need to do better-for the bigger *and* the rail thin. They do a disservice to both of em.

  4. What’s wrong is the bathing suit, not a good look there are many others that would have complimented her MUCH better . Oh and the Dr has every right to share HIS view just like they SHARED her photo . They opened the door …..

  5. Not healthy to be that heavy according to our medical experts. So why are they promoting her? She’s big but not beautiful. Diet/exercise.
