A Bronx judge on Sunday night ordered the alleged Riverdale synagogue vandal be cut loose on supervised release — reversing an earlier decision by a separate jurist to hold the suspect on $20,000 bail.

The suspect, 29-year-old Jordan Burnette, was granted supervised release by Judge Tara Collins in Bronx Criminal Court — hours after he was ordered held on bail on 42 charges stemming from his alleged 11-day crime spree, Patrice O’Shaughnessy, a spokeswoman for the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, said.

The article goes on to state the following:

Under New York State law, a suspect hit with Burnette’s charges cannot be held on bail.

Judge Louis Nock earlier on Sunday issued that Burnette be held in lieu of $20,000 bail, but prosecutors demanded he be released because of the state’s controversial bail-reform laws.

“Given the number of attacks, we probably would have asked for substantial bail before January of 2020,” Assistant District Attorney Theresa Gottlieb told Judge Louis Nock earlier Sunday.

“The legislature did not include hate crimes in its revision of bail reform and, under the law as it exists today, this is not eligible,” she added. “We will not violate the law.”

Lee Zeldin tweeted Monday, “EXHIBIT A: Just as I said last week at Riverdale Jewish Center, under NY’s cashless bail law, criminals like Jordan Burnette can terrorize the Bronx Jewish community, vandalize synagogues, stomp on religious freedom, & walk free immediately after getting caught. This is insane.”

  1. Pictures aren’t even the same people. The judge is just another person who shouldn’t be on the bench. Someone who goes on a 11 day crime spree shouldn’t be on the loose.

Law and commonsense have left the judicial system.

  2. Can anyone blame New Yorkers for leaving the state for safer states where law and order rules and not the criminals? When you have criminal-cuddling, so-called leaders, leading the state and city in Cuomo and DeBlasio, responsible, decent people have no choice but to leave especially if they have children and assets. Thus, New York, a blue city and state, is on a downward spiral with the criminal element gaining the upper hand more and more! And it’s no different in other blue cities and states across the country! The Democrat Party is the party that undermines America as it caters primarily to criminals and government-dependent parasites who refuse to work. America needs to wake up and vote the scum politicians out before it’s too late!

  3. All the good people of NY should leave. Let all the criminals fight it out till the end. NY and CA are leading the way in insanity. Which state will completely fall first? CA is set to release thousands of felons! What could possibly go wrong?! Good people will be trapped. Targeted, with no protection. Good people will become victims. It’s scary.
