WASHINGTON (AP) — Rejecting the recommendation of prosecutors, a federal judge sentenced a Jan. 6 rioter to probation on Friday and suggested that the Justice Department was being too hard on those who broke into the Capitol compared to the people arrested during anti-racism protests following George Floyd’s murder.

U.S. District Court Judge Trevor McFadden questioned why federal prosecutors had not brought more cases against those accused in 2020 summertime protests, reading out statistics on riot cases in the nation’s capital that were not prosecuted.

The article goes on to state the following:

“I think the U.S. attorney would have more credibility if it was even-handed in its concern about riots and mobs in this city,” McFadden said during Danielle Doyle’s sentencing for entering the Capitol on Jan. 6 with a throng of other rioters. Prosecutors recommended two months of home confinement for Doyle, who is from Oklahoma.

McFadden did condemn Doyle’s participation in the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol saying her behavior was not excusable, and called it a “national embarrassment.” Comparing it to the Black Lives Matter protesters in the summer of 2020, McFadden said Doyle was “acting like all those looters and rioters last year. That’s because looters and rioters decided the law did not apply to them.”

The report notes that McFadden, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump, has taken a different approach than other federal judges overseeing the cases against those involved in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, despite other Trump appointees on the court assigned to the hundreds of cases.

  1. The reason these protesters are being treated differently from the racist black looters that took place in the major democrat cities last year is because these people are Trump supporters. The left wing prosecutor wants to show that the democrats can do what they want to do. However, since these racist democrat scum bags are in charge that is what you can expect, unfair justice to the White people.

  2. The Prosecutors know they can’t charge any of the Trump supporters with Insurrection, sedition or even an illegal weapons charge. So what do they do to these Patriots, is put them in Solitary Confinement & treat them worse than they would treat actual Terrorists like the Taliban, to break them & make them plead to.lesser charges, denounce Trump as the rightful President, & read books on White Privilege. I bet they do the same thing to that Marine they put in the Brig for disobeying orders telling Joint Chiefs of Staff General Milley & Secretary of Defense Austin that they were the ones who screwed up pulling out of Afghanistan. The left will make sure if u don’t bow down to them, they will treat u worse than a 3rd class citizen.

  3. Good l9gic by the Judge – justice should be dispensed equally. Remember these Jan 6 protesters have already been in solitary prison confinement for more than 6 month (without an indictment, which is one hell of a lot more than the rioters and protesters of BLM and Antifa.
