Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is sponsoring a bill to grant Kyle Rittenhouse the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest honor the legislative branch can bestow.
The Georgia Republican introduced the bill Tuesday following Rittenhouse’s acquittal of all charges in the killing of two men during riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last year. The bill’s summary says the legislation will “award a Congressional Gold Medal to Kyle H. Rittenhouse, who protected the community of Kenosha, Wisconsin, during a Black Lives Matter (BLM) riot on August 25, 2020.”

The bill likely won’t succeed, as it would need the support of two-thirds of both chambers of Congress, which are controlled by Democrats. Many Democrats expressed disappointment in the not-guilty verdict while some Republicans, including Greene, celebrated the teenager’s acquittal.
The medal is primarily awarded to those who deserve the “highest expression of national appreciation for distinguished achievements and contributions by individuals or institutions.”
Greene shared a photo on her Twitter page of Rittenhouse standing next to Former President Donald Trump Wednesday after the pair met in celebration of the verdict.
“Two men I greatly admire along with a mother who has had to endure more than she ever thought she could,” Greene wrote. “Kyle thanks Pres Trump for two most important things the left is trying to destroy.”
“We must always uphold our Constitution, defend our 2A, & stop our enemies who hate them,” she added.

I really like MTG!!! Kyles trial was a win for our COUNTRY! He went thru suffering and horrible emotional pain. He is a bigger man than most democratic politicians!! (And some republicans!) I thank MTG for doing this!
While I do like her, this is dumb. Do you know how many people defend themselves every year? I don’t but I’m sure it’s a lot. Metals and awards for doing something great is a joke. When they say how someone won a a Purple Heart metal or a metal of honor, I want to punch them in the face. You don’t win them, and most of the soldiers that have been awarded them don’t show them. They know they were doing what they needed to do.

I have to agree with Vaughn… Kyle Rittenhouse has gone through more than is necessary for a kid. Allow him to relax, regroup and work with his lawyer.
Using him as a political tool, knowing full well that it has no chance to pass, is beneath MTG.
I love Marjorie for her strength. Like I’ve said before- Conservative women represent truth, fairness, Courage, and intelligence.. Candace, Judge. J, Kayleigh, The Lauras’, Melanie, Dana. Etc………….. Let’s all collectively say a prayer for Governor De.Santis and his beautiful wife and further victories…..
