Megan McCain held nothing back in a podcast interview released Thursday with The Commentary Magazine.
McCain revealed what appeared to be bullying from “The View” host Joy Behar, which turned into the ultimate catalyst for her to quit the panel show, PageSix reported. The former panel host told the podcasters that when she returned from maternity leave in January 2021, one core moment changed her entire perspective on her work.
The article goes on to state the following:
“I finally went back to the show, and the day I went back to the show, Joy Behar said on air, ‘Nobody missed you, we didn’t miss you, you shouldn’t have come back,’” McCain told the podcasters. The comments from Behar were enough to make McCain realize that the job was not worth the treatment, PageSix suggested.
She continued, “And I just… I started hysterically crying. Sorry gentlemen, I know, I started lactating on air, and I started crying.” According to the outlet, McCain said she was so sick that she threw up. She then called her brother and they discussed what happened and he convinced her to quit.
McCain said, “I didn’t feel supported when I had my baby, and I didn’t feel supported coming back, and that was ultimately it. That was why I left!”
Podcaster Noam Blum tweeted Thursday, “Meghan McCain talked on the Commentary Podcast today about how she was treated by The View cohosts and honestly @JoyVBehar is the worst person in America. Seriously fuck you, Joy.”

McCain wrote, “Thank you so much for having me! I had such a great time – I’m such a fan of all of yours and everything @Commentary related!”

Well, seems McCain took a little creative license. When you check the clip from January 2021, Behar didn’t exactly say that. She said “I did not miss you. Zero.” Still mean. Still the worst.
