Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used his final speech in front of the Knesset Sunday to vow a swift return to office, attack his replacement and call out the Biden administration’s effort to revive the nuke deal with Iran.

Netanyahu, 71, stepped aside for the new coalition government led by Naftali Bennett who became the new prime minister after a 60-59 vote. President Biden quickly congratulated the new government.

The article goes on to state the following:

Bennett’s office said he later spoke by phone with Biden, thanking him for his warm wishes and longstanding commitment to Israel’s security.

“Prime Minister Bennett noted his appreciation for the President, and for his support for Israel during the recent operation in Gaza (Guardian of the Walls), and noted that he considers him a great friend of the State of Israel. In their conversation, the leaders emphasized the importance of the alliance between Israel and the United States, as well as their commitment to strengthening ties between the two countries, and maintaining the security of the State of Israel,” the new PM of Israel account tweeted.

Kamala Harris tweeted, “Congratulations to Israel’s new Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Alternate Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, and everyone in the new Israeli cabinet. We look forward to working closely with Israel’s new government to build on the strong bonds between our two countries and advance security and peace for Israelis and Palestinians.”

The new prime minister tweeted in response to Harris, “Thank you @VP Kamala Harris, for your congratulatory wishes. We will continue to build the alliance between Israel and the United States and expand the special relationship between our peoples. 🇮🇱🇺🇸.”

In his final speech before the Knesset on Sunday, which was supposed to be 15 minutes but lasted a half-hour, Netanyahu ripped into Bennett, once his ally, describing him as a political lightweight who does not have the talent to handle the job.

Netanyahu then slammed the Biden administration, saying Biden had asked him “not to discuss our disagreement on Iran publicly.”

“But with all due respect, I can’t do that,” Netanyahu reportedly said.

On his Twitter account, Netanyahu posted a number of clips from his speech and vowed he will be back – sooner than people think.

The warning of @netanyahu: “From the moment the United States returns to the nuclear deal with Iran, the incoming government will not approve significant actions within Iran to halt the armament program.”

I heard what he said @naftalibennett. On the subject of Iran – now I’m twice as worried. Bennett always does the opposite of what he promises. He will fight Iran like he will not sit with @yairlapid And with @mnsorabbas”- Said the designated head of the opposition, @netanyahu.

“Do not be discouraged, raise your stature, we will continue to work together for our beloved country” – he concluded. @netanyahu. His last speech as the 35th prime minister, and promised to return to office “much faster than you think.”

It is a holiday evening in the TV studios, but it is not an easy evening for millions of Israeli citizens. I ask you: do not let your spirit fall. We’ll be back – and faster than you think.

Thank you to everyone who came yesterday to show support for Balfour – I love you! We are not afraid of a long way!
