South Texas Hispanic females are leading the charge to turn the Democrat stronghold of the Rio Grande Valley red.

The New York Times argued Sunday President Joe Biden’s victory with “only” 15 percentage points in the Rio Grande Valley is presumably due to Hispanic females who disagree with the Democrat Party over social issues and open borders. Hillary Clinton won in a “steep slide” by 39 percent in 2016.

The article goes on to state the following:

Chair of the Hidalgo County Republican Party and daughter of a Democratic state legislator Adrienne Pena-Garza is one example. She told the Times the Democrat Party has gone too far left on gun control and abortion.

Hidalgo County GOP responded to the NYT report, tweeting, “Not every day our County is highlighted on a worldwide platform! The grassroots is alive and well in #SouthTexas #LetsGoHidalgo.”

“We all have a unique story here in South Texas. Now is the time the world hears it! We are changing & will continue to grow with bold & courageous leaders at the helm. All voices matter, even those on the right! #SouthTexas #USA #leadright #letsgohidalgo,” tweeted Adrienne Pena-Garza, Chair of the Hidalgo County Republican Party and daughter of a Democratic state legislator.

“Politics down here did scare me because you didn’t go against the grain,”  Pena-Garza told the NY Times. “If someone’s going to tell you: ‘Oh, you’re brown, you have to be Democrat,’ or ‘Oh, you’re female, you have to be a Democrat’ — well, who are you to tell me who I should vote for and who I shouldn’t?”

“Humbled to serve this wonderful organization and work alongside some incredible trailblazers!! Thank you @nytimes. Come back soon for a follow up! You’re welcome back any time!!” Pena-Garza added.

Monica De La Cruz-Hernandez, a Republican candidate, is potentially challenging Democrat Representative Vicente Gonzalez, pending redistricting.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) commented on the NYT report, and tweeted:

The NYT story begins: “The front door of the Hidalgo County Republican Party’s office is covered with photos of high-profile politicians: Gov. Abbott, Senator Cornyn & President Trump. Nearly all of them are white men.”

Here’s a pic of that door. Notice anything different?

(On the bottom of the door is a photo of Christi Craddick, Chairman of the Railroad Commission of Texas.)

Below is a look at the massive amount of support in Hidalgo County for then-President Donald Trump in October:
