REPORT: Teachers can hide private conversations with students from parents, says policy in dozens of schools

As the most reliable and balanced news aggregation service on the internet, DML News App offers the following information published by Fox News:

At least 68 Missouri school districts have identical policies, provided by the Missouri School Board Association, stating districts do not have to disclose conversations about “academics and personal issues” between students and teachers or counselors to the student’s parent or guardian.

The policies, which are part of the broader category “Interviews with or Removal of Students,” state “school counselors meet with students to discuss academics and personal issues, teachers often discuss academic performance with students, and school officials meet with students when investigating disciplinary violations.”

The article goes on to state the following:

“The district will not honor requests by parents/guardians to be informed prior to these discussions, be present during the discussions, or prohibit conversations between a student and staff members,” the policy continues.

Andy Wells, with No Left Turn in Education, says these policies give any teacher or a counselor the ability to privately speak with students about gender, race, and academics without the consent or even knowledge of the parent.

Wells went on to say, “Now if there is a question of child abuse, neglect, something like that, I absolutely understand the need for the private conversation to do the investigation to determine if there’s an issue.”

He went on to state that doesn’t give them blanket approval to have a private conversation with the student without parental consent.

The full policy section reads:

“There are many situations where school employees will meet with individual students. School counselors meet with students to discuss academics and personal issues, teachers often discuss academic performance with students and school officials meet with students when investigating disciplinary violations. These conversations are an essential part of the educational process. The district will not honor requests by parents/guardians to be informed prior to these discussions, be present during the discussions or prohibit conversations between a student and staff members.”

  1. If parents do NOT join together and END this totalitarian.regime , they WILL, .not MIGHT , lose thier children FOREVER .THIS should be the FIRST and ONLY thing on parents minds …….No.joke …….

  2. Just more indoctrination of our children. Are you surprised? This is going on in our schools now 24/7. If parents don’t take a stand this is going to continue because the left will stop at nothing to brainwash your children. Just look at the majority of young people today. Flipping out over abortion when most of them don’t really have a clue what they’re talking about. Maybe they should read the leaked SCOTUS draft? But don’t hold your breath. Just saying……

  3. Maybe it’s time to start having quiet conversations with teachers ,councilors and school board members without others knowing about it then . These people are way overstepping their bounds if you don’t pay for the child they are not yours to train any way you wish .Better take a stand soon people this is right out of the nazi playbook. If you allow it don’t bitch about it after they turn on you.

  4. HOW DID THIS EVER HAPPEN, schools creating rules where secrecy is allowed between teachers & students or other officials without parental knowledge?? It appears to be part of a planned effort to secretly indoctrinate & control children that is shocking & UNACCEPTABLE!!
