A Texas Democratic official is facing calls to step down from his role after he called Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., a racial slur.

“I had hoped that Scott might show some common sense, but it seems clear he is little more than an oreo with no real principles,” Lamar County Democratic Party chair Gary O’Connor wrote in a now-deleted Facebook post, referring to Scott’s rebuttal to President Biden’s Congressional address on Wednesday.

The article goes on to state the following:

Rep. Pat Fallon, R-Texas — whose district includes Lamar County located in Northeast Texas — eviscerated O’Connor for his comment on Friday. In a press release, Fallon called the slur — which refers to a Black person who is perceived as acting White —  “unforgivable.”

Below is a screenshot of O’Connor’s now-deleted Facebook post, insulting Sen. Scott.  His page has a number of anti-Trump and anti-Republican posts.

“Gary O’Connor’s comment against Senator Tim Scott is abhorrent, insulting, and unforgivable. Both he and the entire Lamar County Democratic Party should be ashamed of this racist behavior. O’Connor must apologize and step down immediately. Additionally, I call on both the Democratic Party of Texas and the NAACP to condemn these words, and the state party should take swift action to censure him. This kind of behavior is not tolerable in Texas, the United States, or any political party,” said Congressman Pat Fallon.

Scott was hit with multiple insults from the left are giving the GOP response to Joe Biden’s Joint Congress address.  Twitter allowed the hashtag slur #UncleTim to go trending for 11 hours before blocking it.

Former Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard came to Scott’s defense, tweeting, “The personal attacks against Senator Tim Scott were despicable. We need to discuss and debate issues fairly and with respect. This is the spirit of aloha.”

Scott responded, “Thank you for standing up against the bigotry. Hatred and discrimination have no place in our country—our American family deserves better.”

Friday morning Scott shared again a clip from his speech, and wrote, “No amount of backward bigotry will shake my faith in the goodness of America. I meant what I said on Wednesday night, and I’m glad Joe Biden and Kamala Harris agreed with me: America is not a racist country.”

In another tweet on Friday, Scott added, “Corporate America marches to the Left’s “silence is violence” rallying cry, but now that a conservative is attacked? Crickets. This isn’t about me. If you won’t stand up against racism, what are you saying to young Black & brown kids who dare to think differently? Be better.”

  2. Democrats – hate-filled racists. Never censored by their peers for their despicable behavior. Hilary Clinton, Maxine Waters, and this one, to name a few

  3. People are voting these people into Gvmt offices. We need to start researching before marking our vote! Why are we not voting sensibly? These people don’t show their racism after they get in office! Its already there ! Do some research! Keep them out of our Gvmt! Blacks can be racist as well as any other color!
