Liberal pundits and news outlets across the country are using Thanksgiving week to disparage the holiday and label it a function of White supremacy and genocide.

“What is Thanksgiving to Indigenous people? ‘A day of mourning'” a USA Today headline on Tuesday said, accompanied by an article that claimed “many” Americans believe the holiday “represents the dark shadow of genocide.”

The article goes on to state the following:

On MSNBC over the weekend, Gyasi Ross, who is Native American, explained a segment that white people have created a fake story around Thanksgiving and that the pilgrims are responsible for a system of White supremacy that is used to carry out “state sponsored” violence against Black people to this day.

MSNBC tweeted a clip captioned: “‘Instead of bringing stuffing and biscuits, those settlers brought genocide and violence,’ Gyasi Ross says about the history of American Thanksgiving. ‘That genocide and violence is still on the menu.'”

Green Matters, a website “for people looking to live more sustainably, fight the climate crisis, and learn about environmental justice,” posted an article called “Thanksgiving Glorifies the Abhorrent Colonization of Indigenous Peoples” that detailed how Thanksgiving is “bad,” saying that the holiday Americans has set aside to give thanks for all we have is “offensive to Indigenous people” and that it “glorifies colonialism, slavery, and even epidemics.”

“Many Americans who celebrate Thanksgiving have no idea just how cruel the holiday’s origins are, while those who do may choose to either boycott the holiday, or just use it as an excuse to express general gratitude, gather with family, and eat comfort foods,” the Green Matters article declares.

According to Currently, a community site with a goal of “sharing resources and delivering justice, hope, connection, safety, and resilience in a world in urgent need of systemic action,” Americans celebrating Thanksgiving are perpetuating a “false narrative” that covers genocide.

In a tweet, Currently wrote, “Thanksgiving will be celebrated by many people across the country. The holiday perpetuates in a false narrative, that spins the true history of genocide and colonization into a light and largely false story.”

The tweet links to a news feed that lists the following information under “What you need to know currently”:

During this month devoted to honoring the contributions of Native communities in the US, millions of American families gather to celebrate a holiday that is rooted in painful day for many Indigenous people. While many have attempted to decolonize the holiday, with land acknowledgments and donations, it begs the question where do we go from here?
Currently spoke with CeeJay Johnson Yellow Hawk an artist auntie who is Dakota Lakota from the Ft. Peck Tribe in Montana as well as Lingít, from Southeast Alaska.

She said that with the Thanksgiving holiday coming up, she understands the desire to preserve a tradition thats deeply engrained within American culture, however she said it is first essential to understand the history of the holiday.

“Thats not really honoring us, thats hurting us.” said CeeJay, “I think that it’s important that a conversation is started and that people actually know the true history of what happened during the first Thanksgiving from the actual people who have that knowledge.”

CeeJay recommends that non-natives “honor Indigenous people” by “amplifying their voices, donating money, supporting local Indigenous organizations, conducting land acknowledgements and supporting Indigenous representation in politics,” Currently concluded.

The Washington Post ran an article claiming the Native American tribe that helped the Pilgrims survive now regrets it.

From the Post:

Long marginalized and misrepresented in the American story, the Wampanoags are braced for what’s coming this month as the country marks the 400th anniversary of the first Thanksgiving between the Pilgrims and Indians.

For the Wampanoags and many other American Indians, the fourth Thursday in November is considered a day of mourning, not a day of celebration.

Because while the Wampanoags did help the Pilgrims survive, their support was followed by years of a slow, unfolding genocide of their people and the taking of their land.

According to the article, the true “history of what happened in 1621” does not include turkey and feathered headdresses, and “initially, there was no effort by the Pilgrims to invite the Wampanoags to the feast they’d made possible.”

Native American activists “have long objected to the popular portrayal of Thanksgiving.”

Fox News lists the following additional examples of efforts to “cancel” the traditional Thanksgiving portrayal or tradition:

  • A Pennsylvania Capital-Star opinion piece by Michael Coard said: “When the Pilgrims arrived on the Mayflower in 1620, they didn’t bring thanks. They didn’t even give thanks. Instead, they brought racist genocide and gave nothing.”
  • Eater’s green bean casserole recipe includes a warning to readers that says: “Thanksgiving traces its origins to an uneasy, temporary alliance between 17th-century English settlers and members of the Wampanoag Confederacy.”
  • Change.org garnered 50,978 signatures calling on the Wall Street Journal to halt publication of an annual Thanksgiving editorial showing positive portrayals of Pilgrims. The Wall Street Journal declined to acquiesce in an op-ed in which the board said the effort would not succeed and that The Journal wouldn’t “bend to political demands for censorship.”
  • The chancellor of the Washington, D.C., public schools, Lewis D. Ferebee, sent a letter encouraging families to “decolonize” the holiday the recalls “horrors.” With a message entitled “Recognizing the History of the Holiday,” Ferebee said, “Thanksgiving is a day that can be difficult for many to celebrate as we reflect on the history of the holiday and the horrors inflicted on our indigenous populations. If you celebrate, our Equity team has shared resources for how you can consider decolonizing your Thanksgiving” (emphasis original).
  • Oregon Democratic State Senator Kayse Jama tweeted, “This Thanksgiving, please consider some alternate options such as listening to Native speakers to broaden your perspectives, engaging and educating your families on this topic, giving back to the community or supporting Native businesses.”

  1. Heard this from college student son the other day. They were taught this at college. My response, fine I’ll celebrate my thankfulness for the blessings we received. You can make your own rice, tofu and beans.
As for Christmas, since you no longer don’t believe in christ- no more presents since I don’t want to make you feel like a hypocrite. Sucks to be a snowflake

    • Throughout history you have one civilization or another conquering others. Greeks, Romans, Persians, French, English, Spanish, Chinese etc. Every culture or human society on this planet either conquered or was conquered. That included native Americans, Indians or the liberal term indigenous people. American Indians fought among themselves, took slaves and displaced earlier inhabitants of this continent. More advanced cultures took over lesser cultures. We’re Indians victims? No more so then any other culture or group that was displaced.
This whole chain of thought is just another attack on white people by groups that love playing the victim.
What is ironic is the same people who support this crap, have no issue with American citizens being displaced by mass immigration.

  2. F_ck the liberals they could ruin their birthday or any day or holiday for themselves but not for us patriotic Americans!! We celebrate the pilgrims and how the Indians helped them learn and adjust to their new lives!!
They were brave people in a new world!! We give thanks to them and their families who suffered much but never gave up and thanked God for their survival and blessed food!!
Today we patriots celebrate the same thing!! A gathering of family and God around good food and family and all are loved ones!! A blessed day!

  3. And the liberals that are so distasteful for the USA can start their own country… an available space can be at the bottom of the Marianas Trench! Happy Happy Thanksgiving to those that are truly thankful and not hypocrites who continuously bite the hand that feeds them!

  4. WOW, THESE PEOPLE ARE MENTALLY ILL AND I REALLY DO THINK THAT THEY WOULD BE BETTER OFF LIVING IN A COUNTRY LIKE CHINA OR NORTH KOREA.
HOW SAD AND MISERABLE THESE LOSERS ARE, WOULD NOT WANT TO BE AROUND THEM OR LISTEN TO THEIR GARBAGE.
I SURE HOPE THIS EVIL CRAP GOES AWAY SOON BECAUSE THEY ARE TRYING TO DESTROY WHATS DECENT AND ENJOYING THE THINGS WE HAVE.

  5. I am part native American, have any of these idiots heard of the Trail of Tears? Thanksgiving was celebrated way before my people suffered. If they would teach true American history in schools instead of the twisted crap they do, they may sound intelligent.

  6. FALSE NARRATIVE ?? They know ALL about that sh1t so are they DONATING thier Thanksgiving foid and $$$$ to the Indigenous people and making a difference ?? Of COURSE not

    Lets Go Brandon

  7. Anyone with a brain doesn’t listen to all this crap…. Celebrating Thanksgiving with our families….
And will be celebrating Christmas also….what they say doesn’t matter to us…

  8. Liberal’s are crazy I bet they’re all celebrating. It’s the do I say bunch , not what I do. Happy Thanksgiving to all those nut jobs🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃

  9. I didn’t read but the first paragraph! Find me one person on the the planet that was at that gathering to tell me what happened on that day! Otherwise shut the hell up! China awaits your arrival!

  10. They need to stop dividing this country with the white supremacy bullsh..! Enough is enough. They all need to be impeached. Anyone is better than them at this point!

  11. Racism was being weeded out of society in this country and then came Obummer. Talk about putting salt in an old wound. We as Americans have changed our path since the Pilgrims came to this country, we have evolved from the conquering the new frontier to a country building relationships with people and other countries. Obummers apologetic tour across the globe brought a new hate for this country. By not teaching real history and events these people create divide not unifying environments. Many indigenous peoples welcomed the new settlers and aligned with them but kept their cultures separated. Many battles for new land were taken by indigenous people themselves and use the technology the settlers brought with them to achieve it. Many tribes were rendered extinct or put into slavery with other indigenous people. Majority of slaves that came to this country were brought by other blacks and sold. Spain and France enslaved Central America people and used them to mine for their riches to send back to their kings and queens. The US taxpayers has been paying for reparations to indigenous people for over a century with subsidies to reservations. They allocated land to each tribe we call reservations. Those lands are sovereign nations of their own. It wasn’t just the new settlers that killed off people to gain new territory, the indigenous people did this to each other as well, example, the Soix and the Poni. The people who have written these statements are only looking at one side of a story to fit the narrative. We give thanks on this day to celebrate who we are as a people and how we have evolved. Thought this holiday was created for great strives and relationships we made as a people and the great harvest of hard work in the fields to feed our communities and new friends we had made, we give thanks on this day for our freedoms, family and our good fortune as a nation. So I say this, screw all of these people with their negative attitudes and their hate that grows within and may God help the find peace.

  12. These maggots go out of their way to trash anything that promotes thankfulness and unit! Let them rot in their hate and evilness!

  13. The genocide that’s happening now is from the mandated bio weapon death JAB many of these liberal wackos will “spontaneously” die off soon making our lives much calmer

  14. If these idiots want to keep pushing this white supremacy bullshit, then I believe all us white folks need to pick up our guns and make it true for them! Then at least their narrative would have some legitimacy to it!!! Stupid bastards!!!

  15. This is a movement to change the traditions of America. The Obama’s narrative is to breakdown America piece by
Piece. When the older generation pass on, it will be an easier transition to have less history, and more solidarity to be a socialist Communist country. Biden is not in charge.
Obama is in bed with China.

  16. Thanksgiving would never be canceled, we would never let that happen! But we should also realize that Thanksgiving back then wasn’t as wonderful for the native Americans as they say it was.

  17. Apparently we keep giving them the “stage” and the f’n corrupt media is pushing the narrative. Ignore these communist hating America libTARDS, they really must be miserable people. Wanna bet the f’n little hypocrites most likely celebrities all the holidays
