Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ office declined an offer for the governor to appear on “The View,” questioning the hosts’ motives for having him on the show.

The program sent the invite Monday reportedly telling the governor’s office they would “be honored” to have DeSantis appear on the show. DeSantis’ deputy press secretary, Bryan Griffin, told “The View” that his office will “pass on the offer” due to the co-hosts’ past remarks about the governor.

The article goes on to state the following:

Griffin quoted co-host Joy Behar calling DeSantis a “negligent, homicidal sociopath” in August 2021, and co-host Sunny Hostin calling the governor a “fascist and a bigot” in June 2022. The email also included a remark from co-host Ana Navarro, who said in April 2022 that DeSantis’ policies are “anti-Black,” “anti-gay” and “anti-American.” (RELATED: ‘The View’ Melts Down Over DeSantis Revoking Disney’s Special Privileges)

“Thanks for the invite. I understand that you are sending this request on behalf of your team,” Griffin wrote in a Tuesday email. “But are the hosts of the View really interested in hearing from Governor DeSantis about all of the important work he is doing on behalf of Floridians to protect their health and livelihoods, to stand up for parents and children, and to defend freedom? Which of the below statements from the hosts of the View do you recommend our team consider when deciding if the interview will be a genuine pursuit of truth? Or worth the time?…We will pass on this offer.”

  1. KUDOS to Griffin! Screw The View’s panel of loud mouth, self-serving, over weight & over paid, not to mention contentious gossipers! Glad to see Hasselback holding her own! The View can only handle one conservative member at a time! Crap show!

  2. The majority of American women seem to think the same way these dried up hags do . They are ignorant and divorced from any semblance of reality voting over and over for democratic ideas that just don’t work for all Americans.

  3. I think the ads were misleading and confusing and that is why Kansans voted the way they did. I feel I am a fairly intelligent person and I had to double check myself before voting.

  4. Good decision – it would be a GROSS waste of time and an embarrassment intended to “legitimize” The View no matter what the outcome. Those hags were probably slathering at the thought of DeSantis gracing their “show” and giving them an opportunity to cast insults at him in person. Very good decision to rebuff them.

  5. Awesome response !! I prayed he would not go on the show. These are diabolical women who will do anything they can to embarrass, ridicule and demean any Republican who comes on their show. Avoid them like the Plague !!

  6. DeSantis would have to be an idiot to favor their crap show with his appearance, so they could all rush to attack him as unfairly in person as they do otherwise.

  7. Oh, do I wish this man was our President. He would be targeted like Trump was, but he has the brains to pick his battles and not speak with thinking it out first.

  8. I am glad Governor DeSantis refused the invitation. Why would anyone lower themselves to talk with these useless, despicable, hateful, K U N T S. Remove that offensive show for good.
