Former top Obama adviser David Axelrod attacked the 2020 democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden of “serially” distorting his record on the Iraq War.

Biden has been giving false accounts of when he turned against the Iraq war. He said this week that “the moment it started, I came out against the war at that moment.” But he publicly supported the war at least until September 2003 and did not say his vote to authorize the use of military force was a mistake until 2005.

The article goes on to state the following:

Axelrod addressed the claim on Twitter Thursday tweeting, “It’s one thing to have a well-earned rep for goofy, harmless gaffes. It’s another if you serially distort your own record. @JoeBiden is in danger of creating a more damaging meme.”
