Billionaire and Tesla owner Elon Musk doubled down in a Twitter post Wednesday afternoon, confirming that he is now firmly on the side of the political right, and says he will be voting for Republicans in the next election.

“In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party. But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican,” Musk wrote.

“Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold … 🍿,” he added, concluding with a popcorn emoji.

This comes after Musk announced during a virtual appearance on the All-In podcast on Monday, “I have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats historically, overwhelmingly. Like, I’m not sure, I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear. Now, this election, I will.”

“The point I’m trying to make is that this is not some sort of attempt to, it’s not some right-wing takeover as, say, people on the Left may fear,” Musk added. “We obviously need to get rid of the bots and scams and trolls and people that are operating huge bot armies in an attempt to unduly influence the public opinion.”

Last month, Musk posted a meme indicating where he now stands politically. The drawing shows himself starting out left of center, but the farther left his “fellow liberals” have gone, the more the center line has changed, until Musk is now shown on the right side.

“Welcome to the party, @ElonMusk!” the GOP tweeted.

Likewise, House Republicans tweeted, “Welcome home @elonmusk.”

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Col.) wrote, “Welcome to the right side, Elon!”

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) tweeted, “Welcome, Elon. Glad to have you. 🇺🇸.”

Republican congressional candidate Dr. Willie J. Montague of Florida joked, “You’ve just kicked a hornet’s nest that will set off shockwaves throughout the nation! YES!”

Another Republican congressional candidate, Josh Barnett of Arizona, quipped, “the Lefts cancel culture’s ears perked up…you are confusing them by selling electric cars lol.”

“Well at least if they tweet nasty things you know someone high up at Twitter,” teased former White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

Outkick host Clay Travis tweeted, “There are many of us who voted Democrat for years and have come to realize what Elon is elucidating here and are now voting Republican. I am one of them.”

“Fighting the good fight. A new champion has entered the arena,” declared Ian Miles Cheong.

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld weighed in, tweeting, “the most succinct explanation for leaving.”

“Mars is officially a red state,” joked Breitbart’s Joel Pollak.

Meanwhile, the left has reacted as well.  The anti-Trump group, The Lincoln Project, retorted, “Wrong side, buddy.”

Occupy Democrats lashed out, tweeting, “Never let anyone tell you this billionaire isn’t right-wing. He’d rather support insurrectionists than pay his workers fair wages.”

Another CEO admitted he’s on the fence himself, tweeting, “Feel similar but not as extreme.”

  1. I am so happy that Elon Musk has come over to the “right” side of politics. Hopefully he can help with taking our country back to the wonderful place it was heading, after the pandemic. Trump did so much and the Biden mafioso family has ruined so much. Shame on all the scumbags involved.

  2. I am so happy that Elon Musk has come over to the “right” side of politics. Hopefully he can help with taking our country back to the wonderful place it was heading, after the pandemic. Trump did so much and the Biden mafioso family has ruined so much. Shame on all the scumbags involved.

  3. I also voted Democratic when I was young. Then I got smart and found out what the democrats are really like. Look at every town run by democrats, it’s run down, they aren’t helping anyone but themselves.

  4. Good , someone with a pair .
…..or is it because he can’t be bought ?
All Dems have a price tag on their head . Greed is never good.

  5. I grew up in a Democrat family. The first time I voted was for John F. Kennedy. Was still registered as a Dem for several years but never voted Democrat after that. That party stands for all the things I detest.

  6. I used to vote Democratic years ago when they took care of our unions and the working class.
Elons right about the Left and how they’ve become unrecognizable.

  7. Elon Musk is a very intelligent man and he has a lot of common sense. In my younger years I was influenced by my family and they were Dems. Now ALL of us are Republicans. I always tried to vote for the best candidate and that meant splitting the ticket sometimes. Now it’s straight Republican. I will NEVER vote for a Dem. If I have any RINOS in my state this time, I’ll choose someone else if possible. Still no Dems! I’m sure Musk is going to be bombarded with hate from the left. Maybe some others will join him in the switch. Something has to give. Red Tsunami must happen for this country to survive.

  8. Tired of the blues, the blues at the gas pumps, the blues at the high prices at the grocery store, blues at the prices at the lumber yard, blues at the empty shelves…..tired of the blues…VOTE RED

  9. America is waking up – even Elon sees the Democrats for what they are, division and hate.
    Keep this ball rolling!

  10. No intelligent person could vote Democrat, and no honorable candidate would belong to a party so crooked, inept, divisive and America-hating as the Dem party.
