The St. Louis, Mo., couple who went viral after staring down a group of protesters from their front porch have agreed to plead guilty to lesser charges in connection with the incident, pay fines and lose the guns seized during the investigation.

Mark and Patricia McCloskey, two attorneys in their 60s, were charged in the summer of 2020 after a swarm of Black Lives Matter protesters broke down an iron gate and ignored a “No Trespassing” sign on their private street. The couple said they felt threatened and armed themselves before heading outside to warn off the crowd, which was on its way to the former mayor’s home. No one was hurt.

The article goes on to state the following:

“They dropped all the weapons charges and they charged me with the lowest level of misdemeanor, which is something called assault four, which alleges that I purposely placed at least one other person in apprehension of immediate physical injury,” Mark McCloskey told Fox News over the phone after returning from court Thursday. “I said, ‘Well, I guess I did. That was all point of the guns.’”

McCloskey said in the interview, “It’s kind of humorous for me at any rate, the charge they finally settled on for me, because it’s exactly what I did do. That’s the whole point of the Second Amendment. We stood out there with guns, and that placed them in imminent fear of physical injury, and they back off.”

McCloskey will have to pay a $750 fine, and his wife will pay an additional penalty on a misdeameanor charge. Their guns which were seized after the incident will be destroyed.

McCloskey clarified he doesn’t have to give up his other firearms, but only the two weapons seized will be destroyed. “I don’t have any problem getting myself another AR,” he declared.

Later Thursday afternoon, McCloskey fired off a number of statements on Twitter.

Sharing photos of the gate broken down by the Black Lives Matter mob, as they invaded the private street, McCloskey wrote, “When the mob attacked my home, the media claimed the gate was open and that it wasn’t torn it down to attack my family. Well, look here. A media that constantly deceives Americans and glorifies the mob cannot be trusted.”

“A year ago, the mob came to my door to attack my family— I backed them down. The mob came for me, the media attacked me & prosecutors tried to punish me for defending my family. They dropped all charges, except for a claim I instilled “imminent fear” in the mob. I’d do it again,” McCloskey vowed.

In a barrage of tweets, McCloskey added:

The two weapons that were seized from me were evidence in a criminal case. Per the state of MO they are to be incinerated. Let me be clear, I am not surrendering any of my other firearms! I will continue to be one of the strongest advocates for #2A in MO and around the country.

Let me be clear, I am not surrendering any of my other firearms! I will continue to be one of the strongest advocates for #2A in MO and around the country. The two weapons that were seized from me were evidence in a criminal case. Per the state of MO they are to be incinerated.

Don’t worry— I have more guns to protect my family where that came from! #2A

Last month, McCloskey announced he is now running for U.S. Senate. “An angry mob marched to destroy my home and kill my family, I took a stand to defend them. I am a proven fighter against the mob. When the mob comes to destroy our home, our state, our nation— I’ll defend it. I will NEVER BACK DOWN. Help me FIGHT BACK,” he wrote.

On Monday, McCloskey wished former President Donald Trump a happy birthday.

“Happy Birthday to one of the greatest Presidents our nation ever had! President Trump is not only a great man, but a great leader. His leadership is deeply missed in this country right now,” he tweeted.

  1. Ok good but what about very poor individuals who can’t afford to lose their guns or their rights to protect their family and property?

  2. Outrageous absolutely fucking outrageous law-abiding citizens are the new Criminal just post a black lives matter sign on your house when they come banging on your door so your black lives matter and you thought it was Whitey

  3. OMG! I just cannot believe that they got railroaded into accepting a plea bargain and pleading guilty to a lesser charge and fines and the damn state of Missouri retains ALL weapons involved in a criminal case and incinerates them! What a freaking waste of two good weapons that were NOT even fired in the incident! This is total bullshit!

I don’t understand WHY two Attorney’s would agree to this bullshit and would NOT fight it! Well, on second thought, I guess I DO understand it…who wants to go through ALL that shit? The cost and the time is prohibitive in itself not to mention that Mark McClosky is now planning to run for the Senate to hopefully make needed changes in our country!

  4. BLM rioters didn’t get charged with the same “imminent danger” charge now they know what to do to get patriots to defend themselves and get charged for it plus lose their guns what a bunch of crap why don’t states ever charge the rioters?

  5. That’s it folks. Say goodbye to America. A mob breaks your gate comes on your private property and you pled guilty???? They said the McCloskey’s overreacted!! On what fucking planet??!! That’s it folks the Bolsheviks are in charge!!!! Unfuckingbelievable!!

  6. So the mob got in trouble too ?? Stupid question. This man would have my vote if i lived there and i pray Trump endorses him !! Actually im sure he has !!

  7. Wth. So you must let people assault you and possibly kill you and destroy your home or you are brought up on charges. Isnt America great.

  8. So wrong we should have the right to protect ourselves and our property. This is what socialism does. They get in trouble while those that burned and looted businesses and harmed others go free.
If people don’t wake up we will have no rights

  9. I would NEVER move to Missouri with that stupid damn law on the books! Their weapons were NOT even fired during this incident but they were confiscated and will be destroyed just because they were part of this case??? How ridiculous!!! And WHY were the BLM rioters NOT charged with instilling fear into the McCloskey’s??? This is a travesty!

  10. Mr McCloskey had the right according to the Second Amendment to keep and bear arms. He was bearing arms against a threat as the Second Amendment implies in the bearing. The State of Missouri violated the Second Amendment by taking his guns. I think at this point he should sue to get his guns back. Mr McCloskey suing would be Rather helpful in his campaign for senator.

  11. I wonder if they prosecuted the rioters? Did they fine them? Absolutely horrible when you cannot protect your own property. Typical liberal bu**sh*t
