A law enforcement officer who was shot early Friday morning in Wake Country, North Carolina has died.

The shooting took place at approximately 1:30 a.m. ET near the intersection of Battle Bridge Road and Auburn Knightdale Road, WRAL-TV reported.

The article goes on to state the following:

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office announced shortly after the shooting that the officer died of his injuries.


WCSO tweeted late Thursday night, “The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is grieving after one of our own was fatally shot in the line of duty, earlier this morning. Please pray for this agency!”

Wake County Sheriff’s Office, Raleigh, N.C tweeted Friday, “It is with sadness to share that a @WakeSheriff deputy was fatally shot while in the line duty earlier this morning. Please pray for the deputy’s family and this agency.”

Reporter Keenan Willard tweeted, “HAPPENING NOW: Huge police presence near a gas station at Battle Bridge Road and Auburn Knightdale Rd in Southeast Raleigh. Wake Sheriff’s office says a ‘serious incident’ happened here, no details yet. Waiting on press conference from the sheriff.”

“BREAKING: A Wake County Sheriff’s Deputy has been shot on Battle Bridge Road in Southeast Raleigh, WCSO confirms. This is the fifth Sheriff’s deputy to be shot in central North Carolina in the past 12 days. No word yet on a suspect or what led up to this shooting. BREAKING: Wake Sheriff says his deputy has died after being shot overnight. Sheriff Baker is in tears as he talks about this loss. Says the search is on for a suspect. ‘We will find who’s responsible for this loss.'”

“Two sheriff’s deputies have now been shot and killed in central North Carolina in the past 12 days. Wayne County deputy Matthew Fishman was fatally shot on August 1 while serving involuntary commitment papers. A Wake County deputy was fatally shot five hours ago. LATEST: A procession is taking away the body of the fallen Wake County sheriff’s deputy. Law enforcement officers stand watch as the deputy’s remains are led from the scene.”

  1. Those people who put their lives on the line should have extra protection against murderers. Anyone convicted of killing an officer (or other first responder) should be sentenced to five years’ hard labor, followed by execution. Give them the double whammy, it’s all they deserve. The five years allows time for any error in the conviction to be determined, and then the execution takes place.

This is the same insanity and murderous spree that we had one Obama was in office and he did nothing rob cops are being killed left and right and it’s happening all over again we need to get these evil people out of office and come November let’s all vote for Republican so we can get the house and the senate back because enough is enough
