Celebrated American children’s author Dr. Seuss is now considered too controversial for one of Virginia’s largest school districts, a new report reveals.

For over two decades, Dr. Seuss’s birthday has been celebrated in schools as Read Across America Day — a day dedicated to the importance of reading and literacy. The day falls on Dr. Seuss’s birthday in honor of the impactful author, whose books have helped countless children learn to read across the globe.

The article goes on to state the following:

But following pressure from activists, Loudon County Public Schools is reportedly dropping the annual Dr. Seuss celebration.

Loudoun County Schools said in an announcement, “Realizing that many schools continue to celebrate ‘Read Across America Day’ in partial recognition of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, it is important for us to be cognizant of research that may challenge our practice in this regard.”

They continued, “As we become more culturally responsive and racially conscious, all building leaders should know that in recent years there has been research revealing radical undertones in the books written and the illustrations drawn by Dr. Seuss.”

The advocacy group, Learning for Justice, has been reported to be behind the push to get rid of the children’s books. The group recognizes a study by St. Catherine University that says the books are covered in “orientalism, anti-Blackness and White supremacy.”

The group tweeted on Friday, “#ReadAcrossAmerica Day is next week. Many schools still spend the week centering Dr. Seuss. But it’s important for educators to understand and discuss his history of racist caricatures—and think about the message sent when he’s celebrated uncritically.”

Fox News Contributor Tammy Bruce tweeted Saturday, “Really @LoudounSchools, is this a mistake or are you this ridiculous?  Virginia school system cancels Dr. Seuss, citing racial ‘undertones’ in writings: report”

  1. Dumb and indoctrinated people in power are afraid of American children know how to read and write in their own language. They know that high literature prepare American to be successful in their life. Criminal educators want make America, a country of mediocre people, easier to control.

  2. I doubt they really have a problem with the books just the fact a white male wrote them. I grew up with these books and only seen the characters as cartoons. It’s very clear you can make anything racist when you go to look for it.
    Dumb people in charge.

  3. Are you kidding me? This is beyond comprehension. Eventually this so call “woke group” will cancel themselves and implode. But at who’s expense….our future children. We need too push back and stop their perverse sense of righteousness.

  4. Yeah, I’m sure when Dr.
Suess was writing books he had alternative motives in mind!!!!!
    Give me a break!
Where do people come up with this stuff?
Mind boggling to say the least!

  5. This is complete insanity. Do they stay awake at night dreaming up this nonsense. I for one love Dr Seuss, God, Jesus, my family, friends and America.

  6. So Groups rule what our children should do and not do….utterly insane. I’m tired of a particular radical group or person chosen to guide our children’s future because that’s the intention!

  7. OUTRAGEOUS! RIDICULOUS! When is this garbage going to stop?? Dr Seuss books are awesome motivational books for children!! This about dumbing down American children! Keep them stupid and they can easily be controlled! It’s the DEMOCRAT way!!

  8. Damn commie bastards! Let’s just burn the books! Really?! Why do we allow the few to dictate anything in our lives? We are the many therefore, stand up people and BE HEARD! Attention to all parents:
You must stand up for your children or we will be erased from the face of the Earth!

  9. If we do not stop giving in to these individual’s demands, we might as well close the libraries. The more we give in to them the more power we give them. In turn the more rights we loose forever.

  10. I assume the Justice group rids the libraries of Dr Seuss and they’ll probably not give any notice to books on Zombies and Walking Dead and Satanist publications 🧟‍♀️

  11. The nattering nabobs say no

What is good, true or funny must go.

The cat in the hat is a racist at that

We know, cuz the Grinch tells us so!

As a a retired teacher, I consistently advocated Dr. Seuss Day and motivated & stimulated my students for a love of reading!

  13. Totally ridiculous! Can they even cite what exactly they find racist in any of Dr. Seuss’ books? I bet not! They are just looking for ways to dumb down the children. These books are very helpful in getting young children interested in reading. I know this from experience with my own children & from volunteering in the reading program at an elementary school. Smh

  14. When are the bonfires starting, the left keeps calling conservatives fascists yet they are the ones who are actually doing fascist’s acts.
