Journalist Vishal P. Singh share the following video footage and details

I’m at MacArthur Park in Los Angeles where a truck crashed into the outdoor market here about an hour ago. Nine people were injured. LAFD says at least one victim has serious injuries and six victims in total have been transported to the hospital so far.

Surveying the damage. LAPD wasn’t able to confirm what caused the crash, simply stating that the driver lost control. An officer on scene also confirmed that the driver was transported to the hospital.

Here’s what it looked like right after the truck hit the outdoor market across the street from MacArthur Park.

@FOXLA reports: “According to LAPD, driver said he saw someone point a gun at him and got distracted, causing him to veer off the roadway and strike the pedestrians.” I asked a detective for the incident about this, he said they’re still determining if that’s what occurred.

UPDATE: The driver, a passenger, and all the pedestrians had minor injuries. However, the driver, passenger, one male pedestrian, three female pedestrians, a female 8-year-old child, and a male 8-year-old child were transported for precautionary reasons to local hospitals.

LAPD has told me @FOXLA was wrong: “It was originally reported that a firearm was pointed at the driver by an unknown male; however, after further interviews with the driver and witnesses no firearm was ever seen.” There were no signs of impairment or other crimes.
