President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence made a visit to the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial in West Potomac Park on Monday, where they were greeted by cheering supporters and reflected on the national holiday.

Video of the two showed the president and vice president arriving at the memorial in the late afternoon Monday while supporters chanted “USA!” and cheered. Some scattered boos could be heard.

The article goes on to state the following:

Pool reports indicated that the pair spent just a few minutes at the memorial, with their heads bowed, before leaving the location in a motorcade. Several wreaths of various colors were set on stands in front of the memorial as the two visited.

Trump also tweeted about MLK Jr. day. He wrote, “It was exactly three years ago today, January 20, 2017, that I was sworn into office. So appropriate that today is also MLK jr DAY. African-American Unemployment is the LOWEST in the history of our Country, by far. Also, best Poverty, Youth, and Employment numbers, ever. Great!”
