An American Airlines passenger was detained by the FBI after being caught on a cellphone video punching a flight attendant in the head aboard a flight from Mexico to Los Angeles.

The airline said in a statement that the assault took place on Flight 377 from San Jose del Cabo to LAX on Wednesday, reported CBS News.

According to the feds, the passenger was removed from the plane after it touched down in Los Angles and was detained on suspicion of interfering with a flight crew — a federal felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. The suspect has not been named.

During the quick video recorded by passenger Barrie Livingstone, the male attendant asks the passenger, “Are you threatening me?”

The attendant then turns to walk away from the unruly passenger and the passenger runs to punch the employee in the back of the head.

Other passengers on the plane quickly restrained the man that attacked the attendant until he was removed by police.

Director of the MOBY group Saad Mohseni tweeted Thursday, “Violence in the air: a friend was travelling from Cabo to LAX, when a passenger hit a flight attendant for not letting use him the first class bathroom. He was later restrained by other passengers and arrested upon touchdown. The video shot was by Barrie Livingstone.”

Producer Malik Earnest tweeted, “33-year-old Alexander Tung Cuu Le from Orange County, California could face a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison after assaulting an @AmericanAir flight attendant, according to @TheJusticeDept. Le was banned from traveling American Air indefinitely.”

  1. Funny thing is that the first class restroom looks like every other restrooms on planes. Guess there are
fewer people in first class so not as long of a line?
