A California man was shot and killed Sunday after calling police officers “pigs” and running towards them with a steel bar.
Bodycam footage allegedly shows Adam Barcenas, 60, charging toward officers in Oxnard, California with a five-foot steel bar Sunday at 6 a.m.
Oxnard police officers were conducting a DUI investigation when Barcenas – who was not involved – confronted them.
Barcenas can be heard yelling “I hate you” at the police officers and calling them “pigs” in the footage. He refused to comply with officer demands and continued to charge forward before shots were fired.
The Oxnard Police Department said in a press release that “Barcenas ignored the officers’ commands and continued to advance towards the officers in an aggressive and threatening manner.”
“Whenever there is an officer-involved shooting, or the officers are otherwise involved in a fatal incident, three separate investigations are set into motion,” Oxnard Police Chief Jason Benites also said in a statement, noting that officers have been placed on paid administrative leave, per department protocol.

The man wanted to commit suicide. This was suicide by a cop! Happens more than people know.
Not sure of the mans situation whether he was crazy on drugs or suicidal. Stop vilifying 👮♀️ cops and respect them. This leads to disrespect and bad choices. The cops have guns much safer than a taser. Comply with cops when given a command. Very simple. Even if he was black he’d still be dead.
